Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Strategic Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer for Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Products. This position will be with our Payloads IPT of the Sentinel Program in the Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector located in Roy, UT.
The successful applicant will be able to:
Manage technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for mechanical, electrical and integrated systems.
Apply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications.
Perform requirements analysis, develop source data for requirements, generate requirements verification, and help prepare test plans and procedures.
Perform Verification Planning in DOORS.
Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
Support team members in interfacing with subcontractors regarding subcontractor requirements, interface, and verifications development.
Review contractor SDRLs. Create CDRL content from contractor SDRLs when needed.
Interface with other IPTs to develop interface requirements and ConOps.
Interface with USAF customer.
Basic Qualifications:
8 Years with a STEM Bachelors degree; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance
Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Programs (SAP) clearance
5 years systems engineering experience including requirements decomposition/allocation and requirements verification planning.
5 years of direct experience with DOORS and specification authoring with verification methodology
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ICBM caliber Penetration Aids/ Countermeasures
Experience with nuclear weapons
INCOSE or equivalent certification
Experience with threat modeling and requirements decomposition based on threat modeling
Direct experience with CAMEO as an MBSE tool
5 years of direct experience with MBSE concepts and methodology for both functional and physical architecture viewpoints
Experience with Requirements verification activity including test and analysis
Familiarity with Sentinel Systems engineering PROPs
Familiarity with Sentinel AVE Interface documents
Demonstrated ability to lead a system engineering team through product development
Knowledge of EVMS principles and practices and direct experience with EMVS

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
