Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Human Factors Engineer (T02 level) / Human Factors Principal Engineer (T03 level). This position is located in Roy, Utah or Huntsville, Alabama and supports the Sentinel program.
What You'll Get To Do:
The Sentinel program has an exciting opportunity for a Human Factors Engineer (HFE) to join the team supporting activities including human modeling simulations, mock-up evaluations, requirements definition / allocation, functional decomposition, interface definition, verification & validation, and HFE formal test.
The selected candidate's job responsibilities include:

Reviewing design documentation
Providing hardware and software interface design/development support
Analyses and collaboration to facilitate equipment selection, design and arrangement; conducting research with users
Checking compliance with MIL-STD-1472G
Collaborating across IPTs, and coordination with the customer and user community
Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

Human Factors Analyses (including, but not limited to): task analyses, predictive workload analyses, interface prototyping and analysis, and design-for-maintainability (DFM) analysis
Checking design compliance against MIL-STD-1472G
Help develop and incorporate the appropriate requirements for the system and ensure that they are properly represented in the model
Basic Qualifications
This requisition may be filled at either the Engineer level (T-02) or Principal Engineer level (T-03).
Required for Both Levels:

Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Demonstrated experience applying HFE principles to Department of Defense programs
Experience in fast-paced work environment and ability to work in a team environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to segment, program and customer community

Engineer (T02 Level):

Educational background in psychology, human factors, user experience, graphic design, industrial design, or HCI-related field from an accredited university, and at least 2 years of related experience with a Bachelors; OR at least 1 Years of relevant experience with a Masters degree. An additional 4 years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
Principal Engineer (T03 Level):

Educational background in psychology, human factors, user experience, graphic design, industrial design, or HCI-related field from an accredited university, and at least 5 years of related experience with a bachelors; OR at least 3 Years of relevant experience with a master's degree; OR 1 Year with a PhD degree. An additional 4 years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualification

Large scale / complex system development experience across multiple phases of a development program: preliminary design, detailed design, integration and test, verification and sell off, transition to production
Experience with Human Factors in a defense contracting environment (familiarity with Mil-Std-1472G and ANSI/HFES 100-2007)
Familiarity with Human Factors modeling in NX/Jack, IMPRINT

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
