Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.This position will join the Sentinel Program's Command and Control (C2) Hardware Engineering team. This position will support a team of Hardware, Electrical, and Mechanical responsible engineers in the design of a diverse set of custom and commercial-off-the-shelf systems and components.
Responsibilities will include a mix of the following dependent on priorities and skillset:

Incorporates edits and redlines to existing designs
Facilitates ingest of supplier drawings into the Sentinel program toolset and workflow.
Develops basic data and makes preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposal.
Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replace ability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements and cost.
Coordinates with other organizations affected by design development.
Makes layouts of complex assemblies and details parts of devices, mechanisms, and structures.
Checks completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning.
Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers.
This position can be filled as a Design Engineer (level 2) or a Principal Design Engineer (level 3) depending on candidate experience and qualifications.
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree. (In lieu of formal degree - an additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered)
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (level 2) or 5 years of relevant experience (level 3)
U.S. citizen
Active Secret clearance at time of application, current and within scope
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
Must have at least 1 year of experience in generating 3-dimentional CAD models of components and assemblies using tools such as Siemens NX.
Must have familiarity with the application of industry standards for mechanical modeling and engineering release such as ASME Y14.24
Preferred Qualifications:

At least 1 year of experience generating and releasing engineering artifacts into Product Lifecycle Management systems such as Siemens Teamcenter
Previous Sentinel experience
Existing SAP approval
Previous Department of Defense program experience in identifying and applying hardware design requirements from interface, compliance, and performance documents
Previous experience with Northrop Grumman hardware/mechanical design processes and principles, such as E110P and E275M

Level 02-$75,800-$113,800
Level 03-$94,200-$141,200
Manhattan Beach salary range:
Level 02-$83,400-$125,200
Level 03-$103,600-$155,400
Primary Level Salary Range: $75,800.00 - $141,200.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $155,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
