Deputy Chief Engineer supporting the Secondary Launch Capability development within SDS. This role is essential to delivering this critical national security capability and will lead a large, cross-functional team as the down & in deputy supporting the SLC Chief Engineer.
Responsibilities include the following:
Provide technical leadership in Design and Development of the Secondary Launch Platform (SLP-A)
Drive technical execution in support of major program events
Collaborate within the Office of the Chief Engineer to deliver exceptional customer value
Focusing horizontally on resolving high-level systems challenges
Ensuring execution of overall technical plan within the Integrated Master Schedule
Supporting strategic SDS Division initiatives on tools, processes, and cross-segment technical reviews
Driving technical rigor into technical interchange meetings with Sentinel partners and suppliers
Utilizing Model-Based Engineering to deliver a highly sustainable Weapon System
Advising program technical leadership on program, schedule, and technical matters

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field and at least 16 years of systems and test experience, or Masters degree and 14 years experience
Experience in leading product development and test/demonstration team
Experience in system development, integration, and test
Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain access to Special Access Programs (SAP) as a condition of continued employment
Experience integrating multiple engineering specialties and stakeholders across multiple Integrated Product Teams and Suppliers
Experience leading design, production, and integration of complex systems
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience
Experience with engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.)
Design Engineering/Computer-aided Design (CAD) experience and engineering releases utilizing Product Lifecycle Management tools
Prior experience interfacing with prime contractor site leads and USAF leadership personnel
Ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
ICBM ground system, command and control, communication, or complex aerospace systems experience
Experience with USAF/USN aircraft certification, integration, and testing
Extensive experience in the development of complex system including hardware/software integration
Experience with rapid development including leveraging COTS solutions to accelerate timelines
Active Secret security clearance and ability to obtain a Top Secret and special access clearance(SAP)
Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities
* Ability to collaborate with groups from diverse organizations and backgrounds
Primary Level Salary Range: $183,200.00 - $274,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
