Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for a Software Engineering Manager 3 within Command and Control (C2), in support of the Sentinel program. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL or Colorado Springs, CO and responsible for managing budgets, schedules, risk and opportunities across multiple teams in support of software system engineering efforts and development of simulation software for the C2 Software System organization.
As a Sr. Engineering Manager, you will be the leader for a team of approximately 70 to 100 software, systems, and test engineers. These engineers will be developing engineering and software products (e.g., software requirements, Cameo Models, engineering analysis and more) within the C2 organization in support of the Sentinel EMD program.
What You'll Get To Do:
Ensuring members have sufficient statements of work, and balancing resources among programs.
Managing member performance and supervising employee development and mentoring efforts (including engagement strategies for higher performers and corrective actions for lower performers)
Coordinating with Sentinel leadership to ensure appropriate staffing/destaffing actions are developed and executed relative to their department and managing employee movement.
Meeting budget targets and interpreting higher level guidance for implementation within the organization for process implementation and improvement.
Managing program requirements and accurately forecasting work scope for program leadership
Rapid response to leadership on requests for programmatic statis, and early communication of challenges to execution
Detailed metric development to communicate status of development with program leadership
Implementation of agile software development practices to support defense contract development programs
Perform as a leader within the C2 software System organization
Coordinate, collaborate, and support senior technical leads and subject matter experts within the C2 Software System organization.
You Will Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience, or master's degree and 6 years of experience, or an additional 4 years in lieu of degree
Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain SAP
Strong understanding and experience in EVMS in an Agile environment
Strong ability to communicate unique problems and recommend potential process/business solutions in an Agile environment
Must have a successful track record of program performance, interpersonal team building skills, and management experience
Demonstrable experience successfully managing software development programs
Experience with the Sentinel or other DoD weapon systems

Primary Level Salary Range: $175,500.00 - $276,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
