Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman is looking for a SCS Capture Deputy Chief Engineer to lead a Capture within the SCS Business Unit of the Global Surveillance Division, part of the Aeronautics Sector. This position is located on-site in Melbourne, FL.
The Chief Engineer maintains cognizance over technical activities within the assigned portion of the IPT for the capture program for driving design decisions, approach and baseline control while adhering to sound engineering processes in the development, production, test and sustainability of the program approach. Working with the SCS Chief Engineer ensures the decisions on the configuration of the capture program and the technical approaches achieve expected system performance, enables long-term program sustainment, and meets technical requirements as they support the Supplier Solution inclusion in the SETR Process (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FRR, FCA, PCA) for the capture design approach.

The successful applicant will have demonstrated knowledge and experience of aircraft systems including vehicle design, mission computing, communications, sensors. In addition, leadership and communication skills are important to help drive issues to closure and provide clear insight to leadership. Experience and ability to work Agile concepts across multiple fields including software, and integration and test is required. Familiarity with tactical weapon system software development, avionics integration laboratories, flight test, and associated data analysis and reduction are required.
Basic Qualifications:

Must have a Bachelor's degree in a (STEM) discipline AND 12 years of experience on manned or unmanned aircraft systems, OR a Master's degree AND 10 years of experience on manned or unmanned aircraft systems, OR a Ph.D. AND 8 years of experience on manned or unmanned aircraft systems.

Must have demonstrated knowledge and experience of aircraft systems including air vehicle, mission computing, communications, software and sensors.

Must have familiarity with leading medium-large technical development and the ability to lead the Supplier reviews of technical data/performance, trade study and technical decisions and wok integration into the main NGC technical solution driving actions to closure with design team.

Must have the experience in supporting Supplier SSOW, SRD and scope discussions for technical lines between organization, deliverables and expectations

Experience with Human Factor design for Human input device design for working with Vehicle layout and design approach

Experience with Requirement Development and Management supporting product, function, allocated baselines, A/C and Mission Failure Conditions for a mission processing Systems

Experience with all levels of requirement development (Weapons system, SSS, SSDS, Supplier requirements with previous SETR Experience (SRR, PDR, CDR, FCA, PCA) and Testing for requirement sell off

Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated Top- Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Vehicle design integration with Supplier Subsystem development and integration of a subsystem to be used on an A/C platform

Experience with the SETR Process for PDR, CDR, TRR, FRR

Experience with proving technical leadership and accountability for development of capture documents for Supplier / Partner teams and technical oversite and support for the solution development through verification

Active Top-Secret Clearance that is in-scope (granted or renewed in the last 6 years).

Primary Level Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $221,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
