Our Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Reliability Engineer Level 3/4 for support projects associated with the design and development of avionic mission systems. The job responsibilities will be as an individual-contributor and deliverable/product lead within a multi-disciplinary engineering team. A successful candidate will support development and verification/validation of the system health framework for avionic mission systems. Other responsibilities may include traditional systems engineering functions, including requirements synthesis and flow-down, system trades study support, systems analysis, coordination of design efforts, and management of technical budgets and interface definitions. The application will be in the context of system health management and reporting.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Support Testability related requirements definition and flow-down.
Perform analysis of Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) to identify test case needs for Built-In-Test (BIT) of a system.
Lead interdisciplinary team in the development of individual Built-In-Test (BIT) test cases.
Develop Testability documentation and release under engineering revision control tools.
Integrate supplier and Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) BITs into a system BIT strategy.
Perform analysis of Testability related metrics (i.e. Fault Detection and Fault Isolation Percentages) of a system.
Present Testability approach, design implementation, and analysis results at engineering design reviews.
This position can be filled at the Reliability Engineer Level 3 (Principal) or Reliability Engineer Level 4 (Sr. Principal) based on specific requirements.
This position will be full-time, on-site at our Rolling Meadows, IL location.
Basic Qualifications for Level 3:
Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline with 5 years of relevant experience; OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of relevant experience; OR 1 year of relevant experience with a PhD in a STEM discipline.
Demonstrated exposure to the software design lifecycle.
Proven ability to drive problem resolution to complex technical challenges.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
US Citizenship required.

* Knowledge of Military Specifications, Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), Data Item Descriptions (DIDs), and other related technical and contractual documents.
Primary Level Salary Range: $98,900.00 - $148,300.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $123,400.00 - $185,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
