Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking a Controls Engineer 2 to support our Facilities Engineering team at our Bacchus, Utah Plant.
This position will be located at Bacchus, working in the Facilities Engineering group with responsibilities in the Process Controls Support. The job will support Plant Rocket Motor manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities include:
Program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) to control a variety of processes, machine tools, and robotics. Allen Bradley PLC and HMI programming experience preferred.
Work with the Process Owner and Operation Personnel to test new/modified PLC/HMI programs prior to Implementation.
Work with the process owner to optimize the control system with process improvements.
Develop automated recipes to error proof the system and reduce operator variability for process specific parts.
Integrate process data with Canary Historian / Ignition
Provide Line Stoppage Support for PLC controlled processes.
Program variable frequency drives (VFD) for all types of motor control applications.
Work with maintenance craftsmen to troubleshoot.
Work as a team with the Electrical Design / Controls Engineers on upgrades / new controls systems.
Support various control systems on plant (e.g. presses, autoclaves, mixers)-involving troubleshooting, re-programming, adding software enhancements, etc. in support of Operations.
Manage upgrades to process related computers.
Implement secure network connections to manufacturing equipment.
Preparation and present to OSCB/PPCB (Safety reviews)
Prepare and submit Maintenance Work Orders
This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:
B.S. degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science with 2 years of experience or 0 years of experience with Masters degree
Strong desire to work with control processes
Allen Bradley PLC experience.
A desire to support Field Manufacturing processes
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in explosive operating area
Computer Process Control experience (Fox, C++, Etc.)
Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
