Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Systems Test Engineer/Sr. Principal Systems Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.
Note: This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. Due to the classified nature of the work being performed, this position does not offer any virtual or telecommute working options. This role can be filled at either level.

As a Systems Test Engineer, you will develop and publish Integrated Test Plans, detailed test plans, test schedules, and test procedures for developmental testing. In this role you will be required to serve as a principal subject matter expert and/or focal point between maintenance, design engineering, and test site team.
Responsibilities may include:
Providing laboratory support for integration testing.
Supporting and hosting test planning working groups.
Interfacing with test article design and analysis teams to define test configuration and data requirements.
Reviewing and evaluating test requirements to ensure completeness of test program.
Performing technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.
Supporting test card development and review in collaboration with other engineering disciplines and test operations personnel.
Supporting test readiness reviews, and pre/post-test briefings.
Providing mission control room support and makes real-time decisions regarding safety, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Conducting and contributing to pre and post-test data analyses to support anomaly identification and resolution. Maintains metrics on status of testing and constraint.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Systems Test Engineer:
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 5 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related professional/military experience.
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
Experience decomposing system requirements into test requirements.
Experience creating, editing and executing test procedures.
Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Systems Test Engineer:
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 8 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 4 year of related professional/military experience.
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
Experience decomposing system requirements into test requirements.
Experience creating, editing and executing test procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with lab and flight test instrumentation and data systems.
Understanding of air vehicle systems and subsystems.
Understanding of air vehicle systems architectures.

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
