Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) in Bellevue, NE is currently seeking a Principal Engineer Software OR Sr. Principal Engineer Software to join our team supporting the WxHe Program. This position is telework eligible for those located near the Omaha Nebraska metro area.
This role will be a critical member of the software development team that is responsible for developing, sustaining and supporting the WxStream and Helios applications for Air Force Weather. The successful candidate will demonstrate a broad skill set balanced between interpersonal and technical capabilities achieving sustainable quality products. They will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The selected candidates will participate in the entire software development lifecycle with a concentration in software engineering. The candidates will work closely with other software developers accomplishing the following:

Complete work independently and as a part of an Agile team
Support team in completing necessary software on schedule
Solve complex problems through innovative and creative solutions
Collaborate with software, cyber, and test engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of software systems
Regularly demonstrate progress to customers
Basic Qualifications

Principal Software Engineer: 5 Years with Bachelor's in STEM field of study, 3 Years with Masters, a PhD or 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Sr. Principal Software Engineer: 8 Years with Bachelor's in STEM field of study, 6 Years with Masters, 4 Years with PhD or 12 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Must be able and willing to obtain and maintain U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance, but not required to start.
Ability to travel on-site to locations in Bellevue, NE.
Proven experience with Python and HTML/CSS/JavaScript
Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Software Security tools such as Jenkins, SonarQube and Git
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within a small technical team
Ability to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish project results
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience building Electron based desktop applications.
Experience with Environmental Sciences, the Weather domain or DoD operations.
Experience with Django web framework and CesiumJS 3D mapping library.
Experience with development targeted at Windows desktop deployment.
Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
Experience with Docker or other container runtimes.
Demonstrated use of collaboration tool suites (Atlassian).
Active Security Certification (Security+, CSSLP, CISSP).
Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret security clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
