Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal / Senior Principal Engineer Systems Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.
This role may be filled at either the Principal or Senior Principal Engineer Level, based on qualifications listed below
The candidate will collaborate with the Chief Architect and Systems Engineering lead to design architecture solutions for USAF Open Architecture development. Required qualifications include experience with SysML modeling, MBSE tools or Mission Engineering, and an active Secret clearance. The role demands innovative, adaptable thinkers who excel in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, can multitask, present verbally, and self-educate. Candidates must understand and apply traditional systems engineering concepts in an agile, accelerated setting and be comfortable making and documenting assumptions.

Key Responsibilities:
Participate in architecture definition and complex system problem solving in support of Research and Advanced Design programs
Design, develop, and document systems that contain logical solutions using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Collaborate with the Chief Architect and Lead Systems Engineer to build out Systems Engineering artifacts in support of standards development for incorporation into Northrop Grumman adopting programs
Generate and present material to support internal and external customer briefings

Basic Qualifications (Principal Level):
Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 1 year of related professional/military experience.
Must have experience developing systems engineering products and/or Mission Engineering
Must have knowledge and experience with USAF Open Architecture approaches
Must have an active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 8 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 6 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 4 year of related professional/military experience.
Must have experience developing systems engineering products and/or Mission Engineering
Must have knowledge and experience with USAF Open Architecture approaches

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience with the definition of OMS - Open Mission System Architecture Specification, UCI - Universal Command and Control Interface, and other DoD Open Architectures
Experience with AFSIM simulation and modeling
Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite and Cameo Enterprise Architecture modeling for system design
Experience in integrating complex system across multiple domains
Experience demonstrating concepts to management and customers
Able to collaborate in a team environment
Primary Level Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
