Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector has a need for a Principal/Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer at its Integrated Mission Solutions (IMS) organization in Warner Robins, GA. This engineering position is for a role on our Systems Engineering Team. Identify and assess obsolete or DMS-listed components.

Develop mitigation strategies (e.g., part substitution, redesign, last-time-buy, or engineering change request).

Maintain an up-to-date obsolescence database and generate regular risk reports.

Source, evaluate, and qualify military-specification (mil-spec) parts.

Ensure that all mil-spec parts meet applicable standards (e.g., MIL-PRF-38534, MIL-STD-810, etc.).

Review engineering drawings, schematics, and TDPs to extract component requirements (part numbers, material, finish, tolerances, etc.).

Perform schematic capture, simulation, and analysis of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits using tools such as SPICE, Altium, or similar.

Create and update Bill of Materials (BOM) and component specification sheets.

Verify that purchased parts match the engineering intent and design constraints.

Help maintain accurate configuration records in the PLM system.

This position may be filled at either Principal or Senior Principal level.

Basic Qualifications:

Principal Systems Engineer: Minimum of 5 years of direct relevant experience with B.S. degree; Minimum of 3 years of direct relevant experience with Master's degree; Minimum of 1 year of direct relevant experience with PhD. B.S, M.S., or PhD must be in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or an equivalent STEM related discipline.

Sr. Principal Systems Engineer: Minimum of 8 years of direct relevant experience with B.S. degree; Minimum of 6 years of direct relevant experience with Master's degree; Minimum of 4 years of direct relevant experience with PhD. B.S, M.S., or PhD must be in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or an equivalent STEM related discipline.

Proven experience handling obsolete parts and implementing DMS part resolution strategies.

Strong knowledge of mil-spec parts and relevant military standards.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and Technical Data Packages.

Experience performing circuit analysis, simulation, and prototype development.

Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel) and familiarity with PLM/BOM tools.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a cross-functional team.

Must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Siemens Teamcenter (or other Siemens PLM) for BOM management, change control, and documentation.

Advanced proficiency with circuit design and simulation tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence, LTspice).

Hands-on experience with component testing and qualification (e.g., environmental, reliability, and functional testing).

Knowledge of advanced obsolescence-prediction tools (e.g., Accuris, SiliconExpert)

Experience with Diminishing Manufacturing Source and Material Shortages (DMSMS) reporting

Current Secret clearance or higher

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
