Roles and responsibilities of the Test Engineer include, but are not limited to:
• Troubleshoots and supports Power and Control Systems and Test Sets
Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment
• Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new
testing requirements
• Analyzes test data and identifies early trends
Supports technicians through troubleshooting and training
• Supports program meetings in developing root cause and corrective actions
• Collaborates with design engineering to develop and implement hardware improvements and solutions
• The successful candidate will have analytical skills to review requirements, test plans, and test scenarios; and the ability to effectively
communicate and work with manufacturing, test engineering, and design engineering personnel. He/she should also be self-directed,
organized, team oriented and have previous experience with MS Office tools.
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Test Engineer:
• Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other STEM field with a minimum of 5 years of Electronics or Engineering experience; Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other STEM field with a minimum of 3 years of Electronics or Engineering experience. Candidates without an advanced degree would be considered with a minimum of 9 years of Electronics or Engineering experience.
• Experience with a broad range of measuring and monitoring equipment (oscilloscopes, function and waveform generators,
power supplies and meters, current sensors and probes, etc.)
• U.S. citizenship
.The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal Test Engineer:
• Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other STEM field with a minimum of 8 years of Electronics or Engineering experience; Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other STEM field with a minimum of 6 years of Electronics or Engineering experience. Candidates without an advanced degree would be considered with a minimum of 12 years of Electronics or Engineering experience.
• Experience with a broad range of measuring and monitoring equipment (oscilloscopes, function and waveform generators,
power supplies and meters, current sensors and probes, etc.)
• U.S. citizenship
.The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications for Principal or Senior Principal Test Engineer:
• Experience with Labview
• Experience with automated testing
• Experience with databases
• Prior Test Engineering specific experience in a military environment
• Prior Test Technician experience working in a lab environment
Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
