Located in Colorado Springs, CO, this role is vital in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.
This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.
Position Overview:
The C2BMC program is a vital part of the Missile Defense System, enabling the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan, monitor, and control missile defense operations efficiently. It helps manage the development of battles and directs networked sensors and weapons to achieve global and regional objectives. Supporting a layered missile defense approach, C2BMC offers an optimized response across all threat ranges and flight phases. It acts as a force multiplier by globally and regionally integrating autonomous sensors and weapons, increasing operational effectiveness. Additionally, C2BMC is essential in all ground and flight testing, confirming and showcasing current and future missile defense capabilities.
In this role, the candidate will serve as a Network Development Engineer, supporting buildouts and deployments to the operational environment as needed. The candidate will be the primary Network Engineer supporting the C2BMC Program. The candidate will collaborate with an Agile Scrum team and plan work based on customer requirements and program contractual agreements.
Essential Functions:

The candidate will be responsible for planning, deploying, integrating, and testing upgrades to the C2BMC network at operational sites

Will also be required to travel to remote locations to lead and carry out network installations, troubleshoot independently, and provide status updates to Program personnel

Must be willing and able to assist with real-world events, including nights and weekends

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline from an accredited university, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master's degree in a related discipline with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree

Applicants must have a current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, etc.) at the time of application, which is required to start. The candidate is responsible for maintaining their DoD 8140 certification throughout the entire contract period

Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start

This position requires a CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or a JNCIA (Juniper Networks Certified Associate) certification

The position is located at an LM facility in Colorado Springs, CO, for the long term. However, it requires the ability to travel to other work sites, including Schriever Space Force Base, Alaska, Guam, Europe, and others, to carry out duties such as deployments

Must be a proven network engineer with hands-on mid-level experience and knowledge of network design, development, and testing methodologies

Must understand the OSI Model, TCP/IP, and routing protocols BGP and OSPF

Must possess network traffic analysis, diagnostics, and troubleshooting skills

Requires firewall experience, especially with Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto

Must have experience in UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, VLANs, GRE tunnels, and TCP/IP network designs

Preferred Qualifications:

Hands-on experience with multi-vendor switching and routing (Juniper, Cisco), WAN optimizer, TACLANEs, and optical transport equipment

Be a clear communicator with excellent writing and presentation abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Visio

Thrive and perform your best work in a collaborative, Agile environment

Must understand standard DOD security practices such as STIG compliance and system accreditation efforts

Familiarity with virtualization technologies - NFV, SDWAN, VMware, VMware Cloud Foundation, NSX, vSAN, and Aria is preferred

Experience with network automation using Ansible preferred

Previous C2BMC experience preferred

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
