Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for a Principal Manufacturing Engineer or Sr. Principal Manufacturing Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting our Production Engineering and Operations (PE&O) organization. The position will be in Melbourne, FL and St. Augustine, FL.
Manufacturing Engineers for Aeronautics Systems are expected to provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex and difficult problems. They are problem solvers who can provide results that are innovative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organization objectives.
The selected candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Model-Based Manufacturing Engineering Team working in a collaborative environment while promoting a positive and proactive teamwork environment.
Job Duties:
Execution of Sector Model-Based Manufacturing Digital Solution Development, including:
Project planning and requirements gathering from program and site manufacturing customers
Support of long-term strategy for sector deployments and maintenance
Conduct PLM and MBM software troubleshooting meeting with users
Conduct software enhancement request meetings with users and drive actions to completion
Develop and maintain metrics gathering and reporting for MBM tools and software
Support MBM staffing plans and coordination with programs
Aid in software training updates and testing as required
Execution of AS site and program deployments
Maintenance of AS Deployment Schedule plan (IMS)
Coordination with program and site leaders to obtain commitment and resources to support project implementation
Management of project budget plan and performance
Support solution development and deployment readiness meetings with AS Operations and Chief Information Digital Office Executive leaders on regular cadence
Support solution development and deployment readiness meetings with AS Program and Site directors and manufacturing homeroom staff as required

Basic Qualifications:
Principal Manufacturing Engineer (Level 3):
Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 4 year or experience in the following engineering fields; Manufacturing, Quality, Production, Industrial, Process, Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautics OR Masters with 3 years of experience in mentioned fields; OR PhD in STEM field with 0 years of experience
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work any shift or extended work week as business need requires.
Ability to interface/communicate with multiple levels of leadership, clients, and vendors
Ability to obtain/maintain DOD Secret security clearance and Special Access Program within a reasonable amount of time as required by the business.
Sr. Principal Manufacturing Engineer (Level 4):
Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 8 year or experience in the following engineering fields; Manufacturing, Quality, Production, Industrial, Process, Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautics OR Masters with 6 years of experience in mentioned fields; OR PhD in STEM field with 4 years of experience
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work any shift or extended work week as business need requires.

Ability to interface/communicate with multiple levels of leadership, clients, and vendors

Preferred Qualifications:
Active Secret or Top-Secret clearance.
Experience and process knowledge in aerospace manufacturing.
Knowledge of data analytics
Experience in creating CPLM and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Work Instructions.
System Application and Production (SAP) knowledge.
Experience providing innovative techniques focused on improving product designs and tooling assemblies or equipment.
Experience working with Aeronautics Sector Production Engineering and Operations tools and processes in a manufacturing environment
Experience working hands-on in a production assembly line environment.
Experience reviewing and interpreting Blueprints and/or 3-D models.
Experience with Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance, or Machining/Fabrication Processes.
Experience in Lean Six Sigma.
Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
