DoD SkillBridge Program Description: *
As one of the largest global security companies in the world, Northrop Grumman is proud to help our nation's military personnel navigate their next chapter into civilian careers. Approximately 20% of Northrop Grumman's 100,000 employees self-identify as veterans, and more than 2,000 are reservists.
The Northrop Grumman DoD SkillBridge Program is an approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. The program is an opportunity for service members preparing for civilian careers to gain valuable civilian work experience during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. The DoD SkillBridge Program is open to all ranks and experience levels. DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Northrop Grumman, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members

Responsibilities for DoD SkillBridge Program participation are:
Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop Grumman - DoD SkillBridge Program (DoD SkillBridge) utilizing the DoDI guidance for SkillBridge. Through this program, the service-member will work on site with their host company, gaining experience in an entry to mid-level career path. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.
Goals - Provide separating service-members with job skills training in a professional setting during the final phase of their military service. This program is specifically designed to offer hands-on experience that result in the potential to convert to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Participants will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC.
Objectives - Service Members who complete the DoD SkillBridge program will be highly trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission "Defining Possible" on Day 1. This program provides comprehensive hands-on experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.
Outcome - Offer service-members preparing for civilian careers a rewarding opportunity to join the Northrop Grumman team.
DoD SkillBridge Eligibility:

Has served at least 180 days on active duty
Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
Will receive an honorable discharge

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for a
Non-Destructive Test Technician Level 1 or Level 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Iuka, MS.
What You'll get to Do:
Conduct NDT (Nondestructive Testing) tests using specific techniques on aerospace products.

Work with UT and X-ray generating equipment

Set-up, operate, calibrate, and perform Process Control Checks on NDT equipment by following established instructions and record results

Interpret, evaluate, and report evaluation results, as required by operating procedures

Fill out required logs and statistical data sheets, as required

Provide On-the-Job Training (OJT) to Level I NDT Inspectors and fellow Level II NDT Inspectors

Assist the Level III in developing specific test techniques

Basic Qualifications NDT Level 1:

High School Graduate/GED

1 year of experience in aerospace manufacturing

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable time per business needs

Ability to utilize measuring devices including comparators, micrometers, scales, and calipers

Ability to pass 40 hours of required classroom training needed to obtain Level I NDT certification

Ability to read and interpret blueprint and engineering drawings and be able to document non-conformances as required

Successfully pass vision screen and color blindness test

Have excellent computer skills

Must pass general, specific, and practical NDT exams within a reasonable amount of time

Must be willing to work any shift as determined by the need of the business

As needed, available to work extended or flexible schedule on short notice

Able to lift up to approximately 25 pounds; may occasionally lift 50 pounds (with assistance)

Ability to handle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Ability to interface with external and internal customers

Excellent mechanical aptitude

Ability to travel at least 10%

Basic Qualifications NDT Level 2:

High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or aerospace manufacturing experience

Must have Level 2 NDI Certification in Ultrasonic testing and X-ray in accordance with NAS-410 (documentation required)

Ability to utilize measuring devices including comparators, micrometers, scales, and calipers

Ability to read and interpret blueprint and engineering drawings and be able to document non-conformances as required

Successfully pass vision screen and color blindness test

Must pass general, specific, and practical NDT exams within a reasonable amount of time

Must be willing to work any shift as determined by the need of the business

As needed, available to work extended or flexible schedule on short notice

Able to lift up to approximately 25 pounds; may occasionally lift 50 pounds (with assistance)

Ability to handle changing priorities in a fast paced environment

Ability to interface with external and internal customers

Ability to travel at least 10%

Preferred Qualifications:

Aerospace or aviation experience strongly desired

Active DoD Secret Clearance

Familiarity with AS9100, NADCAP, and other Quality / NDT auditing / accreditation systems strongly preferred

Experience with digital/computed radiography (CR) strongly desired (familiarity with GE CR systems and software a plus)

Experience with Automated Through Transmission Systems strongly desired

Experience with MAUS systems strongly desired

Experience with multiple brands of flaw detectors strongly desired

Experience in the interpretation of flaws in composites desired

Certification in other NDT methods (flash thermography) strongly desire

* History of working effectively with coworkers, managers, and other employees in a team environment

Primary Level Salary Range: $38,600.00 - $64,400.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $45,800.00 - $76,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
