Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Multi-Domain Operations, and Missile Defense Integration Business Unit (BU) has an exciting career opportunity for a Network Communications & Systems Maintainer - Level 2 for the Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Systems Integration, Test and Readiness (SITR) program, in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) at Schriever Space Force Base and related Colorado Springs, CO GMD sites.

Position Overview:

The selected Network Communications & Systems Maintainer - Level 2 will support the GMD SITR program which is a critical part of our nation's layered Ballistic Missile Defense System providing the US with the capability to engage and intercept long-range ballistic missiles during midcourse flight.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Conduct daily GMD system backups and health checks.

Support on-duty warfighters with account and password issues.

Maintain GMD assets to a level of system availability of over 99% for the customer.

Maintain and repair network hardware including routers, switches, taclanes, and firewalls.

Maintain and repair computing hardware including servers, workstations, media converters, thin clients, etc.

Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software installation, interconnection, and interfacing.

Perform logistics functions required to maintain operational readiness.

Act as Subject Matter Expert in NG operations and sustainment procedures, for console operators, GMOC, and other GMD MDIOC personnel.

Support and assist with training on-duty console operators with initial troubleshooting, and coordination with external stakeholders.

Provide support as required to government and industry system operators.

Communicate with a variety of military and contractor personnel.

Will work during occasional varied shifts, including holidays and weekends, and provide on-call support as needed.

International travel to support remote site maintenance will be required.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 2 years of related experience, OR a Master degree in STEM and 0-2 years experience, OR 6 years of related experience in lieu of degree may be considered.

Applicants must have a current active DoD Secret clearance at the time of application, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret/SCI clearance.

Applicants must have a current, active DoD 8140/8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, etc.) at the time of application, which is required to start.

Knowledge of Local Area Networking (LAN) fundamentals, with specific experience working with CISCO Ethernet routers, switches and protocols in TCP-IP based communications systems.

Experience with LINUX command line interface.

Strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, the ability to interface with a diverse group, and the ability to work unsupervised at a remote site.

Ability to travel up to 25% of time both domestically and internationally as needed to support business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior relevant experience with GMD systems

Experience with Red Hat Linux

Experience with Dell PowerEdge Servers

Experience with SolarWinds applications

Experience with Palo Alto firewalls

Experience working with DISA (Defense Information Systems Agency), and performing related circuit monitoring and repair processes

Experience with VMWare and next generation CISCO equipment

Experience with OSPF and Multicast routing protocols

CCNA certified technician

Practical experience with Active Directory

Process orientation and strong skills in using and following documented processes, procedures, and checklists

Knowledge of military command, control, and communication systems

Primary Level Salary Range: $75,800.00 - $113,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
