Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman has an opening for a Manager Project Management 2 to support enterprise level program management within our Advanced Communications Operating Unit team to support the Communication Solutions Business Unit. The position will be based onsite in our San Diego, CA office and cannot be performed remotely.
The Manager Project Management 2 will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

What You'll Get To Do:
Provides leadership to program integration staff through coaching, mentoring, and other staff development approaches
Provides strategies and direction for operations and program management areas within the Advanced Communications program portfolio
Provides program management support for all phases of the program from inception through completion including cost, schedule, and technical performance of each task
Delivers presentations to customers, executive management, and other program stakeholders
Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications
Leads enterprise resource planning and resource review boards, NCTA and Capital.
Manages and acts as primary point of contract for facility liaison activity across operating unit program buildings
Leads OU employee recognition program
Provides leadership and ownership of Enterprise Risk and Opportunity management plan
Act as the customer contact for program activities while cultivating customer relationships and intimacy to develop opportunities
Manages and provides input for Sector Intranet Program Reporting System (IPRS) reporting data monthly
The ideal candidate will have an extensive project management background in a technical environment; solid organizational skills; an ability to lead program teams to achieve program milestones and delivery objectives; program planning and scheduling skills; solid communication skills; and experience with earned value management.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 8 years of related experience as defined below, OR a Master's degree and 6 years of related experience as defined below
Demonstrated professional and/or military experience to include a background in project management, program management, engineering, capture efforts, and/or business management related functions
Demonstrated experience with personnel management and development, as well as, demonstrated success leading and growing teams/and or organizations
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance within a reasonable period of time as determined by the needs of the business
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's in business administration or finance
Experience managing program/projects with P&L responsibilities
Experience with Program Operations, Data Analytics, Infrastructure & Facilities
Experience with CAM role
Experience with EVMS
Certified by Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional (PMP)
Demonstrated experience meeting customer needs, building strong relationships with strategic partners and guiding program teams and support functions to take action to satisfy customer expectations
Demonstrated experience managing and writing contracts
Active DoD Secret clearance that is in-scope (granted or renewed in the last 5 years)

Primary Level Salary Range: $133,100.00 - $199,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
