Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.As Manager in the Manufacturing Engineering group, candidate will be responsible for providing supervisory/management responsibilities for a group of engineers working on production and development of composites structures or metal materials programs. While the position is managerial, the candidate will also need to provide technical leadership and guidance. This manager will also work on proposal requests, staffing, finance management and provide input on product/program growth and expansion.
This position will require on-site at out Rocket Center, WV Location. No remote opportunities available.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Lead a team that develops and sustains manufacturing processes for defense-related products
Ensure the right people, processes, and tools are in place to meet the business needs
Oversee the supervision of day-to-day engineering activity and work products, expense management, workload management and performance management process
Identify, manage and grow the critical skills for the manufacturing team
Identify and/or lead continuous improvement activities within the department/plant
Function as a key contributor on development programs, guiding manufacturing trajectory

Prepare, review, and approve cost estimates and written technical proposals

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical or equivalent Engineering.
Minimum of 10 years of related engineering experience, or 8 years with an MS degree
Direct experience leading and managing an engineering group in a manufacturing environment.
Experience and knowledge of composites or metals manufacturing and processing
Strong mechanical skills and exposure to a manufacturing environment
Ability and experience with interpreting drawing/specification requirements
Familiarity with Root Cause Analysis, Fault Trees and Design of Experiments
Strong leadership, influence, and project management skills
Ability to network and negotiate at all levels within an organization to accomplish objectives
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to travel occasionally (< 10%) to meet with various customers, in both government and industry, and to interface with vendors
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a prerequisite
Preferred Qualifications
Strong mechanical skills and exposure to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
* Prior experience working with DoD and/or DoE customers
Primary Level Salary Range: $126,600.00 - $189,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
