The role of the Lead Handling Engineer is to oversee a team of handling engineers to support various programs and sites.
Role Description & Responsibilities:
• Work with various programs to determine needs and set priorities for all PS sites
• Collaborate with multiple disciplines to meet program deadlines

Mentor/develop handling engineers within the handling engineering team

Oversee the training and development of area handling representatives across various sites

Peer review move sheets and presentations for area handling representatives and Core Handling

Attend Design, Tooling and Facility drawing reviews for sign off

Instrumental in reviewing FEO/TCN design criteria for new/modified facilities and equipment

Actively participate in Cause and Corrective action teams to identify root cause for issues related to handling issues

Ensure process and handling engineers follow applicable handling command media

Prepare/coordinate estimates for proposals involving handling approval/input

Point of Contact (POC) for handling questions and expertise

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualification:

B.S. degree in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering (other technical degrees may be considered) and a minimum of 5 years of experience; 3 years with master's degree

Handling Engineering experience

Familiar with all sites and moves within Northrop Grumman PS

Ability to motivate and guide teams and activities without having formal "ownership" of the staff supporting those activities.

Experience in MS Office software applications and other NG software (eg. ESI, Doc Shop, TCUA, etc)

Willingness to travel to other PS sites to learn move capabilities and coach sites in safe handling of hardware and tooling.

Willingness to work with sites outside of PS to teach and learn best handling practices

Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance

US Citizenship is required.

Deep hands-on experience of handling requirements and processes

Proven ability to lead a multi discipline team

Expert level of command media to meet deliverables

Ability to complete deliverables within the rigorous timeline

Proficiency in leading teams to deliver complex projects on time

Strong communication skills across multiple disciplines

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
