This position will be for a Facilities Engineer located in Charlotte, NC. Managing the design, construction, and maintenance of the sites infrastructure ensuring facilities are safe, functional, and compliant with regulations.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Project planning, budgeting, contract management, and overseeing project execution

Strong technical knowledge of building systems and project management skills

Collaborate with various stakeholders, from department engineers, managers, and contractors to regulatory bodies

Routine involvement and influence with site maintenance

Project Management: Lead projects from concept to completion, including scope definition, budget, schedule management, and contractor oversight

Design & Engineering: Oversee the design and installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and other building infrastructure.

Maintenance & Operations: Influence preventative maintenance programs and repair activities to ensure building systems are operational and safe.

Compliance: partner with EHS on all facilities and projects to adhere to local, state, and federal health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Stakeholder Communication: Act as a central point of contact, collaborating with internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and vendors.

Budgeting & Cost Control: Assist in budget planning, monitor project costs, and manage contract finances to ensure projects stay within budget.

Basic Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related STEM field with 2 years of relevant experience; Masters of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related STEM field with 0 years of relevant experience.

Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and utility systems, including Chillers, cooling towers, HVAC and building automation systems.

Project Management: Experience in managing multiple facilities-related projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration.

Software Proficiency: Microsoft Site, project timeline and scheduling

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex facility issues and design challenges.

Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

A Master's degree in mechanical, electrical, civil engineering, or related field

Proficiency in using engineering and project management software tools such as AutoCAD and project scheduling software like Microsoft Project

* Expertise in building automation systems (BAS) and energy management systems, with experience in optimizing these systems for operational effectiveness.

Primary Level Salary Range: $77,600.00 - $116,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
