Key Responsibilities

Perform composite fabrication and repair activities including hand layup, prepreg handling, wet layup, vacuum bagging, bonding, lamination, ply cutting, trimming, sanding, and finishing.
Set up, load, monitor and operate curing equipment (ovens, autoclaves) and auxiliary systems (vacuum pumps, heaters, tooling) while controlling cure cycles and process parameters.

Execute assembly, mechanical integration and wiring/cable harness tasks per engineering documentation; apply sealing, adhesive, and fastener installations using controlled techniques.
Support test and validation activities: set up test rigs, instrumentation and data acquisition equipment; perform functional/test procedures; record, analyze and report test data.
Interpret and work from engineering drawings, BOMs, process cards, work instructions, and specifications (including GD&T basics); perform in-process and final inspections using hand tools and calibrated measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
Create and maintain accurate work documentation including traveler sheets, inspection records, nonconformance reports (NCRs), material certifications and production logs; follow configuration control and document change procedures.
This position can be field either as a Engineer Tech Level 3 or Level 4 depending on qualifications below
Basic Qualifications:
Engineering Tech Level 3:

High school diploma or GED required with 4 years of relevant experience, vocational training or Associate's degree in a relevant discipline.
Active DoD Clearance required to start.
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR)
3 years of experience with composite bonding, lamination or adhesive assembly process.
Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to document work accurately and follow
Proficiency operating bonding/curing equipment: vacuum bagging, autoclaves, and ovens.
Familiarity with adhesives (film and paste) used in sandwich structures (epoxies, BMI, polyimide).
Working knowledge of NDT methods relevant to bonding (ultrasonic phased array, pulse-echo, tap testing).
Engineering Tech Level 4:

High school diploma or GED required with 6 years of relevant experience, vocational training or Associate's degree in a relevant discipline.
Active DoD Clearance required to start.
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR)
3 years of experience with composite bonding, lamination or adhesive assembly process.
Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to document work accurately and follow
Proficiency operating bonding/curing equipment: vacuum bagging, autoclaves, and ovens.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's degree or higher in manufacturing technology, engineering technology or related field.
Certifications such as NADCAP (or experience working in NADCAP/aerospace quality environments), IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or equivalent.
Experience with composite process control documentation, cure cycle development, and tooling design.
Prior experience supporting engineering test activities and/or working in systems or avionics integration environments.
Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP or equivalent), shop floor data systems, and basic calibration or QA systems.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, process specifications and Material Data Sheets.
Strong attention to detail (be able to notice subtle differences in texture and appearance of surfaces).
Proficient record-keeping and basic computer skills for logging production and inspection data.
Able to use measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, thickness gauges) and basic shop math.
Good communication skills and ability to work within a cross-functional team.
Experience with statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis tools (8D, FMEA), and continuous improvement practices (Lean, Kaizen).
Physical & Environmental Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, crouch, reach and perform frequent hand and arm movements; good manual dexterity for fine tasks such as ply placement, soldering or connector assembly.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly; safely handle large parts and tooling with team lifts or material handling equipment when required.
Work may require exposure to moderate noise, epoxy and resin odors, solvents and dust; must be able to wear required PPE (gloves, respirators, safety glasses, hearing protection, coveralls).
Ability to work in temperature-controlled environments as well as hot zones near ovens/autoclaves, and in cleanrooms or controlled areas requiring contamination control.
Working Conditions

Work primarily performed on a manufacturing floor, lab or production test environment with regular use of tools, machinery and test equipment.
Shift work and overtime may be required to meet program schedules; may include first or second shifts and occasional weekend work.
Must adhere to strict safety, quality and security protocols; participate in safety and compliance training as required.
Limited travel may be required for training or cross-site support.
* Collaborative team environment with close interaction with engineers, quality, manufacturing and program management to support mission objectives and continuous improvement.
Primary Level Salary Range: $57,500.00 - $95,900.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $68,300.00 - $113,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
