Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.This role is in support of Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (DS) Enhanced Production and Integration Center. The manufacturing engineer in this role will be responsible for creating/updating manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, and material handling. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the assembly and integration of products and other functions that affect product performance. Adapts processes or equipment design to factory and production conditions. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Monitors performance of assembly operations and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts for manufacturability and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are following regulations. Reviews nonconforming material trends to implement process and/or assembly improvements. Maintains and creates manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) in the material resource planning (MRP) system. Assist site management in reporting MBOM / Routing metrics per local process.
