As a Engineer Information Assurance (COMSEC) - Level 1 located in Redondo Beach, CA, you'll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.
The Associate Engineer Information Assurance (COMSEC) ensures the implementation of maximum COMSEC safeguards. This role focuses on configuration management via the Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) Local Management Device / Key Processor System Manager. You will be responsible for the accountability, handling, storage, packaging, shipment, and administration of all cryptographic materials, as well as troubleshooting, software upgrades, and system certifications.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Cryptographic Management: Order and transfer cryptographic keys, interface with the KMI help desk, and coordinate with vendors to provide trend information to the security team and management.
Security Training: Assist in the development, presentation, and record-keeping of COMSEC security awareness training for all users.
Collaboration: Work directly with Government and site COMSEC Custodians to manage the procurement, fielding, and sustainment of secure voice systems and cryptographic devices.
Asset Tracking: Maintain rigorous tracking, control, and inventory for all Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and company-owned equipment.
Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Will consider an additional four years of experience in lieu of a degree
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Top-Secret security clearance
Experience with Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI) and associated keying material
Hands-on experience with fill devices and SKLs
Proven experience as a primary manager of DoD, SAP, and SCI COMSEC accounts
Strong understanding of DoD requirements for safeguarding, control, transmission, and disposition of classified material
Familiarity with NSA Distributed INFOSEC Accounting System (DIAS) or equivalent and NSA/CSS Policy Manual 3-16
Knowledge of security classification markings and physical security requirements for secure vaults
Trained and certified in KMI and OTAT; experience with CompTIA Security+
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency with NSA Type I Encryption Devices, including KG-175, KIV-7, KG-250, SKLs, and VIPERs.
Trained and certified on the Cisco CUCM Voice system
Ability to maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations, manage multiple critical projects, and communicate effectively with diverse teams.
Active US Government Top Secret Clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation within the last 6 years

Primary Level Salary Range: $76,200.00 - $114,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
