Engineer Aeronautical - Level 5
Northrop Grumman's Space sector is looking for a Engineer Aeronautical - Level 5 to join the Electronics Packaging team within Launch Vehicles at our Chandler, AZ facility.
Essential Functions:
Under minimal direction perform a variety of Electronics Packaging tasks to support the design, analysis, and test of Electronic Hardware for use in launch vehicle and on-orbit applications
Perform random Vibration, Shock, Thermal, Structural, and Bolted Joint analysis of avionics assemblies
Support the production and environment testing of Launch Vehicle Avionics
Supplier engineering support
Produce engineering documentation, and technical reports
Provide technical leadership to, and review the work of peers/mentor Junior staff
Present work internally and externally
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in STEM with 10 years of related engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 8 years of related engineering experience
Experience leading a small team and mentoring less-experienced staff
Ability to obtain a US DoD Secret security clearance, or higher

Experience performing and training others in finite element analysis of Electronic Hardware, including bolted joints, thermal, random vibration, basic structural, and shock
Experience performing and training others in thermal and dynamic fatigue analysis of electronic components
Experience with the design of Electronic Assemblies
Experience presenting work to customers / end-users
Experience witnessing or performing environmental testing (vibration/shock/thermal)
Preferred Qualifications:
Active US DoD Secret security clearance, or higher
High level understanding of Electronics Packaging analysis like fatigue analysis, Steinberg analysis, keep-out analysis,
Demonstrated application of GD&T through release of complex machined hardware drawings
Experience working with quality management systems related to hardware production (nonconformances, discrepancy reporting, etc.)
Experience in a manufacturing environment
* Experience with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and failure analysis
