Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Space Systems sector is seeing a Senior Director - Launch & Exploration Division (LED) Engineering Execution Lead, to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be based out of Chandler, AZ, and will report to the Vice President of Central Region Engineering.
As the Senior Director of LED Engineering Execution, you are responsible for driving program success through engineering excellence. Your role includes formulating leadership strategies that measure and actively manage engineering performance, risks, and opportunities to keep programs on track. Strong regional collaboration and executive communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities:

Act as the primary interface between the Launch and Exploration Division (LED) and Space Systems sector Engineering, ensuring alignment of Engineering deliverables (cost, schedule, staffing, technical, etc.) with LED / business goals

Translate LED needs into Engineering priorities and secure resource commitments in collaboration with discipline engineering leaders

Support LED / programs in ensuring execution of programs / projects across multiple engineering disciplines

Ensure delivery of Engineering commitments (cost, schedule, technical)

Provide visibility into project status and risks to both LED leadership and discipline engineering leadership

Champion technical excellence while balancing mission timelines and cost constraints

Act as a resource for Chief Engineers and Architects to elevate issues and secure Sector-wide support.

Maintain awareness of program engineering challenges and ensure plans are in place to address them, particularly for those affecting multiple programs.

Ensure accurate staffing demand profiles by program (12-month look-ahead), sorted by discipline, level, and DLR constraints to meet program affordability targets.

Monitor performance of engineers and facilitate accurate assessments by functional homerooms.

Submit forward-looking critical skills needs to functional homeroom.

Accountability:

Bid Integrity: Accountable for ensuring C-101 executability and evaluating overall risk associated with Engineering bids

Collaboration: Accountable for collaboration across other regions and with the other Division Engineering Execution leads.

Program Delivery: Accountable for the on-time, on-budget delivery of Engineering commitments to include programs, captures, IRADs, etc. Ensure engineering's technical, cost, and schedule performance targets are met through actively managing TPMs, KPPs, and functional KPIs.

Customer Satisfaction: Accountable for LED satisfaction with Engineering delivery, engagement, and responsiveness

Escalation Point: Accountable for resolving conflicts between program priorities and functional capacity / technical trade-offs

Performance Tracking: Accountable for reporting progress, KPIs, and risks to executive leadership. Owns data-driven continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or STEM discipline from an accredited university with fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in engineering, program management, and/or as an IPT Lead.

Proven experience and intimate knowledge of three or more of the following: Systems Engineering, Technology Development, Electronics and/or Vehicle design and production.

Five (5) years of experience leading people, projects, or programs across diverse technical and non-technical teams.

Proven ability to deliver effective communication verbally, written, and through well-crafted presentations across all levels of an organization.

Experience with effective change management.

Proven ability to lead a high performing team with evidence of being able to create an inclusive work environment that attracts, retains and inspires diverse and engaged teams.

Must possess U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Engineering or STEM discipline.

Program Management experience across multiple business areas and customers on medium to large programs as a Prime Contractor.

Experience in program execution at the Program Office or major IPT level.

Demonstrated ability to make complex critical decisions.

Experience leading day-to-day operations on complex programs or large functional organizations, with proven collaboration and coordination skills across internal and external stakeholder organizations.

Experience with risk, issue, and opportunity management.

* Active or current Secret or Top Secret security clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $209,000.00 - $313,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
