Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems Sector is looking for a Director 2 - Chief Engineer to join the LGM-35A Sentinel Office of the Chief Engineer in our Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division. This leadership role is based in Roy, Utah, overseeing the technical team responsible for design, development, and delivery of the command and launch capability of the Sentinel Weapon System.
What You'll Get To Do:
The selected candidate will join the Sentinel Office of the Chief Engineer with a focus on the Command and Launch (C&L) Segment. The role will report directly to the Senior Director, Sentinel Deputy Chief Engineer and will have the following purview:
Oversight of all major technical functions developing command and control, and infrastructure elements of the Sentinel Weapon System. This includes responsibility for technical performance and long-range planning, and providing technical direction and leadership to the Command and Launch (C&L) Segment and its sub-IPTs
Develops the program's technical roadmap for the C&L Segment and identifies technical growth opportunities ensuring that tools, processes, and training support the Long-Range Strategic Plan (LRSP) for the program
Interprets technical requirements for existing and future product development, and drives technical coordination/integration across projects from requirements definition, delivery, test, through product support

Principal technical interface with the customer for the C&L team
Manages technical baseline for the C&L segment
Works collaboratively and with influence to gain commitment and performance from multiple organizations including suppliers, the Segment and Program customers, Business Operations and Contracts, System Design, Integration, and Test as needed to drive required business outcomes.
Strong sense of urgency and work ethic in ensuring engineering meets customer and program expectations in a timely and efficient manner

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) with 10 years experience or 8 years experience with a Master's degree
Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years or in continues evaluation
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) Clearance
Minimum 5 years of experience directing multi-function engineering teams to achieve a common goal, including planning, risk management, and project performance addressing cost, schedule, and technical quality for large system development
Development experience and expert knowledge of Command-and-Control systems and architecture
ICBM or complex aerospace systems development experience using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
These Qualifications Are Nice To Have:
Active DoD TS/SCI clearance
Leadership experience in the development and certification of Integrated Functional Capabilities on a major development program
Demonstrated ability to establish budget and schedules aligned to performance standards on an ACAT 1 program
NC3, NC2 and cyber security command and control system accreditation experience
Large scale RF terrestrial and hardline communication system design experience
* Physical security technical experience such as access control, fixed site monitoring systems and response force management to protect PL-1N facilities
Primary Level Salary Range: $203,000.00 - $304,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
