Our multidisciplinary foundry team enables activities from development to sustainment process engineering. ATL is responsible for all aspects of semiconductor technology including design, mask making, wafer fabrication, test, and assembly. The candidate must be a strong team participant, have excellent communication skills, and be resourceful and multitalented. A strong understanding of semiconductor technology, metrology processes, and equipment engineering is essential.

The Characterization Fab Engineer- 2nd Shift should possess some knowledge of thin film metrology, optical image review techniques and practices. The selected candidate should have an aptitude for data analysis, technology development and demonstrate an ability to communicate well with others and work equally well independently and as part of a team.
The Characterization Fab Engineer - 2nd Shift will be responsible for but not limited to:
Maintaining existing and developing new in-line metrology recipes and techniques
Assisting with ongoing efforts to integrate in-line metrology into our process flows
Writing and maintaining process documentation
Partner with vendors and equipment engineers to drive existing and future tools to meet foundry needs.
Supporting statistical process control (SPC), continuous improvement efforts and the management and dissemination of metrology data

This position will work on Second Shift Monday - Friday (approximately 2PM-11PM).
Basic Qualifications for Characterization Fab Engineer:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or other STEM discipline with 2 years of relevant experience
Must work Monday - Friday 2nd Shift hours (approximately 2PM-11PM)
Able to work in a Class 100 cleanroom
Basic knowledge of statistical process control
Hands-on knowledge and operation of metrology tools (such as CD SEMs, surface topology profilers, thin film thickness measurement tools) or similar analytical tools
Experience as a tool owner (maintaining tool health, calibrations, process documentation)
U.S. Citizenship required
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required
Preferred Qualifications for Characterization Fab Engineer:
2 years' experience with semiconductor fabrication as an engineer
Experience working with Compound based technologies
Experience in a cleanroom environment
Experience in lean manufacturing practices and structured problem-solving methodology
Data analysis and visualization (JMP)
Experience developing technical specifications for equipment procurement
Active Secret clearance
Primary Level Salary Range: $85,400.00 - $128,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
