The Opportunity

We are looking for a dynamic, hands-on Business Applications Manager to lead our newly established CIDO Business Systems Applications Team. You will manage a team of three specialists while also contributing directly to the development, support and optimisation of business applications across the organisation.
You will collaborate with colleagues across engineering, business analysis, finance, data and project management - working side-by-side as part of our 1,000-strong UK team tackling some of the biggest challenges in defence and critical security missions. Role Responsibilities
• Lead, mentor and manage a small team of application specialists, driving high performance and continuous growth.
• Contribute directly to the development, implementation and support of business applications.
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, recommend solutions and implement enhancements.
• Prioritise and manage team workloads, projects and support requests to maintain strong service levels.
• Oversee application integrations, upgrades and maintenance activities.
• Analyse and resolve complex application issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
• Maintain clear technical documentation, including processes, configurations and training materials.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
• Bachelor's degree in a computer science-related field.
• Experience in business applications development, implementation or support.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Proven leadership or managerial experience within a small to mid-sized team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comprehensive understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
• Demonstrated success in leading or contributing to cross-functional technical projects.
