Northrop Grumman is seeking Circuit Design Engineers. This position will be located in-person at our Mission Systems sector in Linthicum, MD.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Microelectronics Center (NGMC), Microelectronics Design & Applications (MDA) business unit. MDA is leading efforts to transform computing, combining the unique properties of superconductivity and quantum mechanics to develop revolutionary energy-efficient computing systems. You will work in a fast-paced team environment alongside a broad array of scientists and engineers to make these next generation processing solutions a reality. The selected candidate will become part of the Superconducting Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) design team working closely with our internal semiconductor foundry.
Roles and Responsibilities:

Support our research and development design team, which focuses on custom, low-power, low-temperature, RF, analog, and mixed-signal integrated circuits

Advanced design techniques and semiconductor manufacturing/testing

Electromagnetic (EM) simulation

Develop innovative circuits, design techniques, and best practices

Learn systems-level communication skills to effectively collaborate with various teams

Work closely with design leadership, product owners, fabrication, test, and theory teams to conduct comprehensive experiments and drive our aggressive research and development schedule

All work is performed in a Linux environment using state-of-the-art computer-aided design tools

Basic Qualifications:
A candidate must meet
ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

Be completing or has completed their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

Be majoring in or having majored in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Microelectronics Engineering

Active TS/SCI US security clearance

The ability to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher

Experience with RF, Analog, or Mixed Signal Circuit design

Experience in custom Integrated Circuit (IC) design or layout in Cadence Virtuoso or similar design automation software in Linux environment

Working knowledge of the IC design flow including schematic capture, simulation, and layout

2D and 3D Electromagnetic (EM) modeling experience with commercial tools such as ANSYS (HFSS/Maxwell3D), COMSOL, Momentum, etc.

Programming experience in Cadence SKILL or Python

Experience in semiconductor fabrication or test

Salary Range:
$72,700 - $109,100/year
