Position Overview

The Women's apparel role is responsible to set merchandising strategy, bringing end to end product insight with global and geo counterparts. Serve GC consumers with the most relevant products to enable Nike's vision and drive sustainable growth.

Direct report to GC Women's Sportswear Apparel Merchandising Director

Candidate Profile

We seek a candidate with curiosity, creativity, strong ownership, and growth mindset.

With style intuition, strong analytical and merchandising skills, and a passion for products and fashion. Experience in merch, product creation, or retail is preferred. The candidate should translate insights into actionable plans, think strategically, and build effective cross-functional relationships end to end.

Job Responsibilities

Brand Leadership and Line Planning

The merchant crafts Nike's viewpoint on w's apparel through line planning and partners with teams to drive results, rooted into sports, but deliver sportswear unique pov.

Seasonal Responsibilities

  • Develop consumer-centric geo line adoption strategies by leveraging a full understanding of the marketplace, combining both data-driven and intuitive insights to anticipate trends and deliver business outcomes.
  • Translate consumer and marketplace insights to influence global teams in executing GC-relevant products and balanced line structure can enable assortment segmentation strategy, including aspects such as color, material, fitting, and seasonality.
  • Collaborate with the Gel team to identify and capitalize on hyperlocal opportunities.
  • Cowork with teammate to ensure balanced price / classification structure, drive consistency and connectivity on product journey, and franchise.

Functional Skills Required (Hard Skills)

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in merch/ buying / product creation, and/or retail in a vertical, multi-brand, or digital environment, apparel background preferred.
  • Strong passion for and understanding of products.
  • Solid command of key retail and/or digital metrics, such as sell-through, margin, full price realization, and weeks of supply.
  • Fluency in both English and Chinese.
  • Excellent at Excel / PPT tools
