Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack, ITC

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We're seeking a seasoned Full Stack Engineer with the versatility to work across frontend, backend, and cloud infrastructure. You should be energized by building new products, shaping existing architecture, and making foundational decisions that will influence Nike's digital ecosystem for years to come.

You thrive in ambiguity, communicate clearly, and enjoy solving complex engineering challenges. You're also forward-thinking-comfortable designing systems that can integrate with modern AI models, automation pipelines, and agentic services. This role will work with a global team, so it is paramount that you have strong asynchronous communication skills, while being able to disseminate requirements quickly from business partners.

This role will be a part of a mission critical team. You will participate in designs and implementation on a team building high-throughput, low-latency, fault-tolerant Paid Media solutions to drive Nike's Digital transformation and growth strategies.

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You will partner with globally distributed teams of engineering, product and program teams to ensure that the ecosystem of services remains loosely coupled, independently scalable, and meets the needs of the businesss. You will work with your peers to develop key innovation features and report into the Engineering Manager for your capability area.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

You will build and deliver the technical runway for existing and new technological capabilities to support multiple mission critical systems within the Paid Media space. You will rely on your understanding of scalable, highly available, and consistent distributed systems to design world class solutions.

• Design & Develop: Build, test, and maintain React applications and Node services providing functionality necessary to enable our advertising efforts.

• Collaborate: Work closely with product managers, engineers to understand requirements, technical specifications, and deliver quality software.
• Explain designs to teammates to for alignment and approval
• Ensure solutions are designed and developed using a scalable, highly resilient cloud native architecture
• AI Integrations: Utilizing AI agentic technologies against repetitive tasks, saving engineering time and expediting response times
• Prompt Engineering: Getting the most of of our AI toolset to improve your own skillset and speed, while providing insights for other
• Front-End Development: Design and implement RESTful APIs, microservices,

services using technologies like Node.js

• Participate in design reviews with peers to provide feedback
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best
• Database Management: Develop databases, ensuring efficient data storage

and retrieval.

• Testing & Quality Assurance: Write unit tests, integration tests, and maintain high

code quality standards using tools such as Jest, Mocha, or similar.

• Performance Optimization: Identify and fix performance bottlenecks across the full

stack, ensuring high availability and responsiveness.

• CI/CD Integration: Integrate with and maintain continuous integration/continuous

deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for seamless software delivery.

• Agile Methodologies: Participate in Agile processes, including sprint planning, daily

stand-ups, code reviews, and retrospectives.

• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.

WHAT YOU BRING

• 7+ years of experience in software development, with a strong foundation in with React and TypeScript
• Experience in microservices architecture, domain driven design, and RESTful API's using languages such as Node.js and python
• Experience using cloud services to build an integrated application (AWS - EC2, ECS, API gateway, Cloudfront, Lambda, DynamoDB).
• Experience with implementing CI/CD and leading teams with DevOps responsibilities of deploying and supporting the software in production
• Experience in big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Apache Kafka
• Experience with data warehouse technologies, such as Databricks
• Experience with highly collaborative, multi-discipline development team environments
• Experience with developing automated tests (E2E) with testing frameworks
• Experience with leading AI/ML technologies, such as MCP Servers, Agentic Integrations, and Natural Language Processing
• Solid understanding of Scrum and Agile principles
• Dedication to and hands-on experience in performing technical code reviews
• Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively connect with both business and technical teams, especially asyncronously
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, Information Systems, or a combination of relevant education, experience, and training
