WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
You will report to the Senior Manager, Materials & Graphics Design, Global, within the Trend & Expressions team. Working across time zones, you will collaborate closely with Footwear Design, Color Design, Product Management, Material Development, and Business Operations partners. Together, the team brings a one-team mindset to creating premium product experiences that connect with consumers and advance the Converse brand.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Converse is looking for a creative and trend-driven Materials Designer II who combines a deep understanding of material design with a passion for consumer culture and fashion. You are energized by uncovering insights, identifying emerging trends, and translating them into compelling material stories that elevate footwear products. You bring both artistic vision and technical knowledge, balancing innovation with commercial relevance.
You thrive in collaborative environments where storytelling, experimentation, and consumer focus drive product creation. With a strong eye for detail, you can create premium material expressions that enhance existing footwear silhouettes and resonate with women's lifestyle and streetwear consumers. You are a strong visual communicator who can articulate concepts through mood boards, presentations, CADs, and material explorations while effectively partnering across multiple functions.
What you bring:
- A strong portfolio showcasing material design, storytelling, and product creation across footwear, fashion, or related categories
- Ability to balance creative storytelling with product execution, partnering effectively across design and development teams
- Strong expertise in trend research, material storytelling, and translating consumer insights into product concepts
- Advanced proficiency in design tools and digital design workflows, including CAD creation and presentation development
- Experience with 3D and AI-powered design tools is a plus

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON
You will help shape footwear collections through material innovation, trend forecasting, and consumer-focused storytelling. By combining cultural insights with elevated material execution, you will create distinctive product expressions that strengthen Converse's connection with female consumers across Europe and beyond.
- You will research consumer behavior, market trends, fashion influences, and cultural movements to identify emerging opportunities
- You will create seasonal material narratives, mood boards, and visual storytelling tools that inspire product creation
- You will design premium material expressions, trims, details, prints, and patterns for footwear collections
- You will collaborate with Footwear Design, Color Design, Product Management, and Development teams to bring concepts to life
- You will communicate design intent through CADs, technical packages, and presentations
- You will support prototyping, material exploration, and product review sessions to refine and elevate product execution
- You will manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality, organization, and attention to detail

The annual base salary for this position generally ranges from €38.400,00 to €57.600,000. Actual compensation will vary based on a candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.
