Summer Associate Internship (Operations Strategist)
Overview
The Employee Communications Operations team supports the planning and strategic operations of the Employee Communications function, which is responsible for delivering timely, accurate and engaging information to all Navy Federal employees. Our mission is to ensure employees have the knowledge and resources they need to succeed, while building a strong foundation for future AI-driven communication solutions.
The Summer Associate will play a key role in improving content management processes within enterprise communication channels. This work will support proper knowledge management practices, ensuring content is organized, accessible and AI-ready for future innovations.
The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship beginning in May 2026 and ending in August 2026. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. Applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2026 or later.
Responsibilities
- Audit and organize existing content repositories across employee communication platforms (e.g., intranet, SharePoint).
- Develop and document governance processes for content lifecycle management.
- Analyze current workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Support initiatives to prepare content and knowledge structures for AI integration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with enterprise communication standards.
- Create dashboards, reports and presentations to share findings and recommendations with leadership.
- Participate in day-to-day operational planning and strategy discussions.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Communications, Business Administration (MBA), Information Science or a related field.
- Strong understanding of content management principles and knowledge management best practices.
- Familiarity with content management systems (e.g., Adobe AEM) and enterprise intranet platforms.
- Basic understanding of large language models (LLMs) and AI concepts.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and process improvement skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
