Small Business Operations Specialist I
Overview

To evaluate and process basic business lending applications submitted through the Navy Federal Secure Document Upload portal. Research and gather supporting data and loan documentation to create opportunities for business credit cards, loans and lines of credit for lending requests up to $50,000. Ensure loan and credit card applications are complete and in compliance with federal and NCUA rules and regulations as well as Navy Federal policies and procedures. Assist Business Loan Processor II and III with members and other staff regarding online business loan processing.
Responsibilities
- Maintain production log daily
- Monitor system queues and take appropriate action on assigned items
- Work as a liaison between Business Solutions and business member
- Process business loan and credit card applications according to established policies and regulations
- Review business lending applications for completeness, data integrity and accuracy; determine if additional information and/or supporting documentation is needed
- Remain alert to possible account fraud/abuse; forward to appropriate area for review/action
- Contact member to complete or verify business lending application details
- Forward completed loan application to credit analysis for decisioning
- Notify member of loan application status; request additional documentation as needed or required
- Ensure adherence to established Navy Federal Business Solutions policies and procedures
- Basic knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and Navy Federal policies and procedures
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Familiarity with software such as: nCino, UAD, MS Office Suite, Lotus Notes, Outlook, fax databases and other 3rd party vendor software solutions
- Working knowledge of various regulatory guidance provided by the NCUA, such as Reg B and other regulations
- Basic research and analytical skills to process and solve problems for multiple types of accounts efficiently
- Basic skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions
- Basic verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
- Basic word processing and spreadsheet software skills
- Basic skill interacting with staff, management, and members diplomatically and tactfully
- Basic skill reviewing documents for errors, inconsistencies, or missing information
- Experience in managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals
- Familiarity with Navy Federal financial and credit transaction documentation processes
- Experience in member service preferably in a call center, retail banking or financial institution
