Overview
To plan, manage and direct the multi-function operations of Navy Federal's Commercial Division, known as Business Solutions, Payments, Deposits and Treasury Management team. To oversee the Business Solutions partnership with Consumer Savings Products, Digital Payments, Membership, and Debit Card & Fund Services. To lead the Treasury Management program and manage associated vendor relationships. . To drive the acquisition, retention and engagement of members using Business payment products; including wires, ACH, Business Zelle, Faster Payment solutions. To coordinate with the Business Lending Sales and Underwriting teams on member deepening member relationships and offering associated pricing incentives.

- Continue to develop Treasury Management and deposit and payment strategy (including expansion of Branch relationship in coordination with Business Channel Support), establish priorities, and set goals; evaluate and implement standards to ensure alignment with department/organizational objectives
- Oversee development of Digital Product strategy to expand the portfolio, increase usage and improve payment profitability and engagement
- Oversee benchmarking and trend analysis to drive continuous improvement and increase member experience quality, generate revenue, minimize financial risk, and maintain high program efficiency
- Establish and maintain effective vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, monitor vendor performance, ensure adherence to service level agreements, and identify additional product strategies and opportunities
- Direct strategist and analytic teams to conduct periodic reviews of existing systems, products, and procedures, to ensure NFCU continues to align with, or exceed industry best practices
- Anticipate internal and/or external business challenges including regulatory; recommend process, product, or service enhancements
- Provide oversight of strategic business development/change projects in the division to ensure the internal controls and procedures are being built in line with technical requirements, risk tolerance and group standards
- Establish and monitor operational risks to ensure adequate controls are deployed and followed
- Provide overall leadership to large strategic projects and/or programs and ensure effective management of projects from inception through implementation by working horizontally across the enterprise
- Manage network relationships and agreements to ensure maximizing value to Navy Federal, implement projects supporting new Digital Payment products and services; ensure timelines and objectives are met
- Drive the expansion and development of operating teams and implement necessary training and upskilling to strengthen business continuity, career growth opportunities and member experience
- Contribute to a culture of collaboration by actively working across business lines, communicating knowledge and business processes to other business units
- Serve as key advisor to department and corporate management in determining overall infrastructure and strategy for payments, deposits and treasury management including staffing and budget considerations
- Serve as subject matter expert regarding business functions, systems, policies and/or procedures
- Provide overall leadership to large strategic projects or programs
- Identify and assess business strategies and opportunities; develop appropriate analytical approaches
- Build and maintain relationships with team members, management, key stakeholders and/or external contacts (vendors, etc.)
- Interact effectively with management and direct reports
- Stay abreast of and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines
- Stay informed of business environment, financial services, and associated trends to ensure competitive business conditions and newest developments are incorporated
- Perform supervisory/managerial responsibilities:
o Ensure adequate/skilled staffing; select employees
o Establish performance goals and priorities
o Prepare, conduct, and review performance appraisals
o Develop, mentor and counsel staff
o Provide input and/or prepare budget requirements for Annual Financial Plan (AFP)
o Ensure section/branch goals and objectives align with division/department strategy
o Ensure efficiency of operations - Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience in leading, planning, organizing, directing, and controlling a corporate level business operation
- Experience establishing and/or leading or developing a treasury management program at a financial institution serving small business and commercial customers/members, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Significant experience with change management processes that demonstrate skills in producing results and achieving objectives consistent with the strategic objectives of an organization
- Ability to develop strategies to address highly complex and sensitive business issues
- Ability to establish effective policies and procedures
- Significant experience working with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, vendors
- Significant experience demonstrating thought-leadership, initiative-taking, decision-making and creativity solving business problems
- Significant experience managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals
- Significant experience supervising and leading professional employees
- Advanced organizational, planning, prioritization and time management skills
- Advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Advanced communication skills, especially in the context of reducing complex concepts and products to the key metrics required for Management to make informed decisions
- Advanced skill in results-oriented leadership in a challenging environment
- Expert skill leading with diplomacy and tact while maintaining appropriate assertiveness and persistence
- Advanced skill to influence, negotiate and persuade to reach agreeable exchange and positive outcomes
- Expert skill presenting findings, conclusions, alternatives, and information clearly and concisely
- Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), Certified Cash Manager (CCM), Cash Management Professional (CMP), or Accredited Automated Clearing House Professional (AAP) credential or equivalent combination of education training and experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Economics, Finance or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
