We're seeking someone to join our Wealth Management Technology division as a Principal Business Analyst in Wealth Management Product Technology - Core Banking & Deposits team to play a key role in helping transform how Morgan Stanley operates

In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Princiap Business Analysis position at Vice President level, which is part of the job family responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying needs, and establishing requirements to enhance efficiency and productivity through a blend of business acumen and analytical skills.

What you'll do in the role:

WM Product Technology (WMPT) is a dynamic and fast-paced area within the Firm's WM Technology Division. We are responsible for creating innovative technology solutions for the Private Banking Group (PBG), one of the strategic growth areas of the Firm, providing cash management and lending products and services to our WM clients. This includes state-of-the-art technology for a nationwide network of Private Bankers and product specialists who work with Financial Advisors to provide access to products and services such as online banking, cards, deposit products, residential mortgages, securities-based loans, and tailored lending.

Business Analyst Manager (VP) to support multiple projects and initiatives and lead a team of Business Analysts under the Deposits and Core Banking team. The ideal candidate will both, be able to guide, manage and develop experienced business analysts, as well as analyze business processes, functions, and procedures across banking product domains. The individual should be highly experienced with creating user stories with detailed use cases, must possess good problem-solving skills, and take ownership of items independently while tracking to closure. The candidate will liaise with global teams to track projects, support initiatives, align the Business Analyst team in India with leadership direction, and deliver projects. The position requires attention to detail, ability to zoom in and zoom out, coupled with ownership, to ensure the delivery of high-quality applications and initiatives.

  • Core to our culture, work as part of a global multi-discipline team (BA, DEV, QA, and Infrastructure).
  • Mentor team members, lead by example, and ensure high quality requirements.
  • Plan capacity, career paths, cross location team engagement for the BA team.
  • Identify, resolve, and escalate issues to enable the BA team to remove blockers and deliver results.
  • Work with dev leads, tech leadership, users, and product owners to create end to end solutions.
  • Analyze business processes, functions, and procedures across multiple business units.
  • Support creating epics and user stories for business and functional requirements, including workflow, business rules and use cases.
  • Operate as a subject matter expert for banking product domain, assist product owners or act as proxy.
  • Meet business unit objectives including cost estimates, date commitments and functionality.
  • Act as liaison between business units, technology, management, and users.
  • Support in responding to Audit queries related to Business process and IT implementation.
  • Ensure sufficient QA/Testing coverage through reviewing test plans and test cases.
  • Work with the project team and business to identify and resolve issues that arise during projects or as part of day-to-day business operations.


What you'll bring to the role:
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in a business analyst role.
  • People management experience leading least a 4-5-member team.
  • Hands-on SQL skills and understanding of databases.
  • Understanding of basics of systems design such as multi-tier platforms
  • Flexible and open-minded for alternative solutions and able to drive implementation quickly with high degree of quality.
  • Comfortable working with unknowns in a complex technical and functional environment.
  • Strong analytical and people skills, including thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Good communication, teamwork, and influencing skills; ability to communicate effectively with the team and key business representatives.
  • Ability to multitask across a number of projects.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications: Excel, MS Project, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint.
