Department Profile

The Fixed Income Division is comprised of Interest Rate and Currency Products, Credit Products and Distribution. Professionals in the Division assess and actively manage risk, trade securities, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets.

Background on the Team

The CFO team in the Fixed Income Division is responsible to manage and optimize financial resources like capital, balance sheet, funding and liquidity. The team is also responsible in stress testing of revenues, resources and costs across all FID businesses.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Capital Forecasting & Stress Testing: Coordinate forecasting and stress testing of P&L and resource usage within the BU, including Risk-Weighted Assets (RWA), leverage exposure, and other key metrics for different Morgan Stanley global entities.
  • Management Action Framework: Continuously review and update management actions, including their quantification, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and internal governance standards;.
  • Cross-Regional Coordination: Collaborate with stakeholders across US, EU, UK and Asia regions to ensure consistency in CCAR, ICAAP and Recovery Planning deliverables and adherence to local regulatory requirements.
  • Narrative Development & Iteration: Partner with Finance and Risk teams to refine results, develop clear storylines, and prepare materials for senior management and regulatory submissions.
  • Governance & Oversight: Contribute to internal governance forums, ensuring timely escalation of issues, robust documentation, and effective challenge of assumptions and methodologies.
  • Work on PPNR (Pre-provision Net Revenue) model development for different Fixed Income Asset Classes such as FX, Rates, SPG, Credit etc


Skills desired
  • Strong understanding of ICAAP, Recovery & Resolution Planning, and stress testing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with capital and liquidity metrics (RWA, leverage ratio, LCR/NSFR).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in Fixed Income products and risk management is a plus.
  • Experience in CCAR and PPNR is a plus
