Securities Based Lending (SBL) Portfolio Manager, Assistant Vice President

In addition to the Firm's comprehensive financial services, which include brokerage, investment advisory, financial and wealth planning, we continue to develop and enhance Morgan Stanley lending, trust and cash management capabilities.
We are seeking a high-potential Portfolio Manager (PM) to help monitor and maintain Securities-Backed Loans for clients in Morgan Stanley's Wealth Management group. The PM will establish key partnerships with Sales, Credit, Legal and other key constituents to ensure that risk is appropriately managed while supporting the Firm's goal of providing quality private banking solutions to its HNW clients. The PM is responsible for performing first line of defense duties as described below.
Position Responsibilities:
- Performing annual reviews - including analyzing the borrower, the structures and the collateral..
- Reviewing booked SBLs that are experiencing distress (even on other cross-product exposures).
- Assist in the production of key reports and presentations.
- Participate in the creation and review of procedures and policies.
- Ensuring all processes and functions performed are in accordance with Firm policies as well as federal regulations.
- Establish a reputation of execution and excellence and gain confidence of the Firm partners.
- Additional responsibilities as required by management and other general functions related to managing a large loan portfolio
Position Responsibilities:
- Minimum 3 + years of securities-based lending experience required
- Private Bank experience preferred
- Formal credit training preferred
- BA or BS required.
Skills/Abilities:
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task and manage expectations.
- Results-oriented with a track record of delivering impactful results in a dynamic client-centric environment
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with sophisticated clients, financial advisors, and senior stakeholders
- Thorough understanding of the organization's strategic objectives and capabilities
- Detail orientation with strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to drive and support change management
