Quantitative Research and Model Review Analyst

Morgan Stanley Investment Management's (IM) Quantitative Research and Model Review (QRMR) team has an open position at junior Analyst level in Budapest to support the global team's model control and governance initiatives.

QRMR is part of the first-line Business Unit risk management function and is responsible for developing leading quantitative risk management solutions, as well as implementing the model control and governance framework to satisfy regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Support model/tool governance initiatives, including the implementation of enhanced regulatory requirements, and contribute to model control framework management activities.
  • Manage model/tool lifecycle governance tasks and support the documentation process, maintaining governance records and documentation deliverables.
  • Serve as an advisory function for model owners across the business regarding model/tool controls and requirements, communicating governance requirements and guidance clearly to stakeholders.
  • Provide primary support for the IM Model Control Committee and coordinate model/tool-related updates across relevant risk committees.
  • Apply structured problem solving and quantitative reasoning to support model governance and control requirements.


Skills/Qualifications:

  • At least a Bachelor's degree ( Master's degree preferred) in an applied mathematics or economic discipline, such as Statistics, Engineering, Mathematical Finance, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 0-3 years of relevant professional experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders across functions.
  • Familiarity with essential quantitative techniques used in financial models is a plus.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Generative AI and experience with using LLM are a plus .
  • Programming skill in statistical packages such as R or Python is a plus.
  • CFA, FRM, or CEFA is a plus.
