Legal and Compliance Division Overview:

Management works with the business units and control groups to help ensure Morgan Stanley has a transparent, consistent, and comprehensive program for managing operational risk, both within each area and across the firm globally. This group designs, implements and monitors the company-wide operational risk program.

The individual will play a critical strategic role in driving risk management activities, which will include work on strategic growth readiness assessments, new product approval, risk scenario analysis, risk metrics development and oversight, deep dives, and analyses. They will also support adoption of these risk management activities within the Non-Financial Risk framework, standards, and methodology.

This role focusses on providing second line risk coverage of the Firm's Finance Department, responsible for financial & regulatory reporting, valuation control, corporate treasury function, tax, capital planning and accounts payable.

Primary Responsibilities:
> Act as ORD global independent oversight lead covering Finance Department
> Serve as main point of contact between ORD and Global Finance Department
> Review operational risk incidents to determine whether respective remediation efforts are sufficient to mitigate risk of material errors
> Perform analysis to identify processes and controls that require enhancements to reduce risk
> Execute quality assurance of the Non-Financial Risk Assessment (NFRA) specifically, help ensure that Global Finance Department has properly assessed its risk and controls
> Perform scenario analysis to quantify stress losses
> Develop and monitor operational risk metrics & investigate breaches Experience Required:
> Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or higher is preferred
> Minimum of 10 years overall experience working in capital markets or respective support function
> Minimum of 5 years of direct experience working in a Finance department supporting capital markets or related support function (product control, valuation control or legal entity reporting)
> Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to produce concise and effective presentations
> Experience verbally presenting complex issues to senior audiences in a concise and coherent matter
> Ability to work independently and have the interpersonal skills required to establish effective internal relationships
> Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

Salary range for the position: $95,000 and $165,000 per year. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
