MSIM- Product Specialist- Leveraged Loans- Associate/ Senior Associate

The Bank Loan Strategies Team is a pioneer in the floating-rate corporate loan market, with a demonstrable track record since 1989. The team invests in U.S. and European senior loans and CLO debt tranches, with their investment strategies underpinned by a robust fundamental research platform and the consistent and systematic application of their risk-focused investment process.
The Fixed Income Product Specialist will join the Leveraged Loan team to support the Client Portfolio Manager and investment team across the team's funds, separately managed accounts, and pooled vehicles. This role will help translate portfolio positioning, performance and market developments into clear internal and client-facing materials and will contribute to ongoing business support activities such as reporting, competitive/market analysis and RFP/RFI responses. Client interaction will be in support of senior team members.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and summarize market developments, economic releases and portfolio activity across Leveraged Loan strategies for internal use and inclusion in client materials.
- Draft and update client portfolio review materials and market commentary in partnership with the Client Portfolio Manager, leveraging investment team inputs, internal attribution data and external sources.
- Support consultant and client coverage by preparing meeting materials, maintaining standard messaging and following up on information requests under the direction of senior team members.
- Coordinate internally with Distribution, Legal, Risk, Compliance and Operations teams to support onboarding, ongoing account maintenance and reporting needs.
- Conduct competitor analysis and market research to support positioning, product knowledge and responses to stakeholder inquiries.
- Manage data, performance metrics and due diligence content required for RFPs/RFIs and other business support requests; help ensure timely and accurate completion.

Requirements
- 3-7 years of experience in asset management, investments, product, research, client service, or a related role.
- Working knowledge of fixed income markets; familiarity with leveraged loans and/or CLOs is a plus.
- Strong writing, editing and data-driven storytelling skills; comfort presenting internally and contributing to client materials.
- Highly organized, proactive and detail-oriented; able to meet deadlines and multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in levered credit and enthusiasm for developing deeper product expertise over time.
- Strong analytical skills and resourcefulness to efficiently solve problems and synthesize information.
- Familiarity with performance, attribution and risk concepts (or the ability to learn quickly); strong Excel/PowerPoint skills preferred.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $100,000 and $160,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
