Morgan Stanley Private Credit ("MSPC") is the corporate credit-investing business within the Private Credit & Equity segment of Morgan Stanley Investment Management. MSPC manages investments on behalf of third-party institutional and high net worth investors across a number of funds. MSPC has pockets of capital focused on investing in privately negotiated senior secured debt, junior debt and mezzanine debt investments to middle market corporate issuers as well as select secondary market credit investment opportunities.

MSPC is looking for a Vice President to join the Private Credit Portfolio Management team, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the Direct Lending portfolio. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of alternative investments and credit markets. You will collaborate closely with the organization's investment team a s well as finance, investor relations, internal legal, tax, risk, compliance and control functions. The role will support strategic business initiatives and fundraising efforts, while also leading digital transformation efforts to optimize technology platforms and solutions to enhance the organization's portfolio management capabilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the data analytics and reporting functions for the Direct Lending portfolio utilizing technology solutions
  • Manage, develop and improve use cases for internal and external technology solutions
  • Develop and maintain business intelligence dashboards to analyze portfolio performance with a focus analyzing data across the broad portfolio as well as trends at the fund-level, sector-level, and underperforming names
  • Manage the portfolio review process and review and analyze portfolio level statistics and trends
  • Review and analyze underperforming portfolio company performance, statistics and trends, including key financial metrics and ratios, risk rating assessment and watch list preparation
  • Participate in regular meetings regarding the portfolio including underperforming portfolio accounts and prepare/review related materials
  • Facilitate and coordinate materials for ad-hoc internal/external requests and projects
  • Review/analyze and track amendment activity across the portfolio
  • Coordinate with the Investor Relations and Finance teams and contribute to various investor requests and materials, and internal valuation processes

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or related field required
  • 6+ years of experience in investment analytics and reporting, portfolio management, or a related field, with a focus on alternative investments and private credit
  • Strong analytical and financial skills, with experience in data, technology, reporting and analytics
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools preferred
  • Strong capabilities in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • High commitment to delivering quality work with strong attention to detail
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and goal-oriented with a strong work ethic

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $200,000 at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
