Lead Cyber Automation and AI Engineer

We're seeking someone to join our Data Protection team as an Automation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) lead in Cyber to lead with the implementation of automations and effective usage of Artificial Intelligence in order to drive efficiencies across the department.

This role requires a deep technical expertise in complex enterprise technologies in order to identify the opportunity for, design and drive the delivery of effective automations to realise efficiencies and process simplifications . A practical understanding of the implementation of AI and practical knowledge of cybersecurity products will also become crucial to the role. The successful candidate might be an infrastructure specialist or a strong system admin, with experience of scripting and task automation, or a system technical lead today, looking to focus and evolve automations as a practice area . Linux and general system architecture troubleshooting are therefore essential to the role and hands-on experience with Python or other automation tools and a strong aptitude to learn or grow these skills is required . The role offers the opportunity to work on every aspect of our internally built systems, which includes connectivity to multiple database platforms, ETL, web and container infrastructure and a range of other technologies.

Prior experience in the financial industry is not required ; candidates from software companies and other industries are welcome. This is a Cyber Security Engineering position at Vice President level, which is part of the job family responsible for p rovid ing specialist cyber expertise and creates solutions that protect the organization's systems and networks against actual and potential security threats and vulnerabilities.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Define and execute the strategy for automation and efficiencies across the Fleet , with a view to extend those practices across the Department .
  • Oversee the development and implementation of efficiencies through automations and AI in a robust security framework across global cyber security operations and development .
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to leverage practices which expedite the integration of security and security systems into all aspects of the business.
  • Act as an Automations and AI subject matter expert ( SME ) within the organization to p rovide executive leadership and guidance on all aspects of Artificial Intelligence to the organization , including contributing to strategic plannin g around threats and vulnerabilities .
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, technical leads and potentially auditors and regulators.
  • Champion the use and reuse of automations and appropriate implementation of artificial intelligence in order to enforce a culture across the organization.
  • Oversee the allocation of resources and budget to achieve strategic security , throughput and efficiency objectives .


What you'll bring to the role:

  • Deep hands-on e xperience of task automation (principally in the Linux and web/cloud environment s )
  • Strong a bility to communicate and present information in a clear and concise manner to technology and business leadershi p . E xperienc e managing budgets and/ or resources would be beneficial .
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of a variety of automation tooling and Artificial Intelligence resources, including design and implementation of automations/ AI capabilities into technology processes .
  • Strong experience in leading cross-functional initiatives and integrating solutions into existing processes ( ideally with in a complex Cybersecurity framework)
  • Ability to manage relationships with multiple parties including key stakeholders, technical teams and potentially auditors or regulators.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with a focus on fostering a culture which promotes efficiencies and the effective use of AI.
  • At least 8 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
