We're seeking someone to join our team as Java Developer Engineer as a part of our FRPPE-OpsTech team, to will play a key role in helping transform how Morgan Stanley operates

Operations Technology

Operations Technology develops and maintains systems in support of Morgan Stanley's global Operations , including (but not limited to) Settlements, Confirmations, Regulatory Reporting, Position Keeping, Corporate Actions processing and other post-trade functions. Operations Technology is a global organization that is client-focused and functionally aligned. Our organization is built to support our clients functional, regional and business-facing requirements while delivering innovative technology and ensuring plant and processing stability. The Firm operates at scale with up to 40 million trades processed on peak volume days and hundreds of billions of dollars of daily settlements with activity ongoing in multiple countries and currencies across the globe. There is a great breadth of financial products that our Operations plant handles across equity and fixed income, from cash products to complex derivatives and loans.

Software Engineering

This is Director position that develops and maintains software solutions that support business needs.

What you'll do in the role:

This role has responsibility to do hands-on development, testing and deployment of technical solutions to support new business initiatives and regulatory requirements, as well as support efficiency, capacity improvements and business re-engineering for the business unit. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and friendly environment locally and globally. It would suit someone who is looking to utilize and expand his/her applications development skills in an agile team.

Responsibilities:

  • Typical SDLC project life cycle
  • Get requirements from business analyst, IT teams and/or directly from business unit personnel
  • Analyze the required work, have the work prioritized, work out the effort estimate/time lines
  • Implement the new functionality
  • Unit test/code review/QA testing
  • Work with internal clients to complete UAT
  • Roll out the changes into production and verify that all is well

What you'll bring to the role:
  • Minimum 6 + years of hands-on experience in software development, particularly in n-tier architecture which span across multiple platforms
  • Strong proficiency in Core JAVA and understanding OOP
  • Good knowledge on common Java frameworks and technologies, including Springboot.
  • Experience on streaming technologies such as Kafka, MQ.
  • Experience in Java multiple-threading program is highly preferred
  • Experience on web services, including knowledge of RESTful
  • Good knowledge and hands on experience with databases (SQL)
  • Working knowledge on cross platform systems running on Windows and Linux OS
  • Experience on leading a team will be a plus
  • Experience on network and infrastructure will be a plus
  • Automated testing framework development experience will be a plus
  • Web UI experience using HTML5, JavaScript, NodeJS or Angular be a plus
  • Knowledge and hands on experience in Agile/DevOps will be a plus
  • Experience on Greenplum, Zookeeper will be a plus
  • Hands On development experience in banking/financial industry will be a plus
  • Good English read/write skill and proficient oral English communication capability
  • At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
