We're seeking someone to join our Investment Management Finance Product Control Team. This Vice President role will lead Product Control and end-to-end Investment Management disclosures across SEC (10-Q/10-K) and Federal Reserve reporting. The position is based in New York and sits within the Product Control and Investment Accounting function

In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm's financial and capital resources. This is a Vice President level position within our Product Controllers Job Family which specializes in ensuring adequacy of controls, profit and loss and balance sheet reporting and reconciliations for a segment / business / product area, as well as management reporting across business segments or cross-functional end-to-end product oversight.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Co-Head Product Control and Publics investment accounting, including Mutual Funds, Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs), Managed Futures, consolidations, hedging, loans, seed investments, and corporate accounting.
  • Own end-to-end Investment Management external disclosures, including SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K) and Federal Reserve reporting.
  • Drive transformation and data governance, ensuring traceability and auditability from source systems to external disclosures, while standardizing processes, reducing manual dependencies, and improving data quality and reporting efficiency.
  • Strengthen the control environment, including SOX, CILAs, and EUCs, enhancing governance and mitigating operational risk.
  • Partner with External Reporting, Regulatory Relations, and Accounting Policy to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment of reporting outputs.
  • Lead cross-functional process improvements across IM Finance, Operations, Accounting Policy, and Compliance.
  • Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm
  • Responsible for and lead a significant set of deliverables, leveraging advanced understanding of Finance functional area, product and/or client segment
  • Proactively identify emerging risks in individual and department work and contribute to strategies for mitigating them
  • Act as a role model and culture carrier; Embody and set an example of the Firm's values and hold yourself and others accountable to Firm standards

What you'll bring to the role:
  • 10+ years of related work experience in Financial services industry (Investment Management industry preferred).
  • Strong financial products knowledge and related US GAAP accounting requirements. CPA Preferred.
  • Results-oriented with capacity and desire to work both at a strategic and detailed analysis level.
  • Able to synthesize and articulate results to a diverse audience (i.e. product control, business managers, business heads, CFO).
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally on various projects and new initiatives.
  • Effective time management and ability to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure situations, and balance multiple tasks.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
  • Ambitious, self-motivated individual, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Bank regulatory reporting experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and crafting compelling data-driven reporting (PowerBI, Alteryx and IBM Cognos/TM1) and commentary utilizing Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Advanced understanding of Finance functional area, product and/or client segment and technical skills, as well as of industry and competitive environment
  • Ability to provide positive and constructive

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $185,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs
