In the Firm Risk Management division, we advise businesses across the Firm on risk mitigation strategies, develop tools to analyze and monitor risks and lead key regulatory initiatives.

The team collaborates across FRM functional and data teams, supporting Data Quality Governance Councils (DQGCs), Firmwide Data Office (FDO), Operational Risk Division (ORD) Technology partners (e.g., system owners), other Divisional Data Offices within Morgan Stanley and subject matter experts (SMEs) to oversee management of data owned and/or consumed by FRM.
The team is responsible for contributing to the Global Data Quality Policy, developing procedures to implement this policy within FRM and for reviewing proposed country, legal entity or risk domain specific Risk Data policies or procedures to ensure congruency and alignment across FRM.
The team seeks an Executive Director for a Mumbai-based global functional role within the FRM Divisional Data Office. The selected candidate will lead a team focused on partnering with Risk Domains, Risk Reporting and Technology teams to develop and drive strategic solutions for process efficiency and data quality/data management challenges across FRM.

The team's remit also includes initiatives related to the Firm's overall compliance with RDA principles as well as FRM's compliance with the Global Data Quality Policy.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team to drive execution of prioritized data initiatives in compliance with the Global Data Policy and BCBS239 requirements across FRM
- Govern and advise risk domains to identify and document data ownership, data authorities and data quality controls for prioritised data
- Enhance and implement procedures for implementation of Global Data Quality Policy in FRM
- Develop and present key metrics relating to data governance and data management in key governance forums
- Liaise with other stakeholders in the firm on data quality/data management issues and provide inputs to improve the overall data governance framework in the firm
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies and lead execution of these initiatives
- Mentor/coach junior team members, provide supervisory oversight, co-ordinate tasks of junior team members and escalate issues as necessary
Skills desired
- Possess Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, or a related discipline
- 10+ years of work experience in the financial services industry preferably in risk management, finance, operation or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of risk management concepts and financial products, particularly with respect to commercial financial market data
- Knowledge and exposure to US, EMEA and UK financial regulations including BCBS 239 and Basel III pertaining to risk data aggregation/reporting is preferred
- The ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders effectively and thoughtfully
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
