Generative AI, Model Risk Management Vice President
We are seeking a Manager / Vice President to join our team, focusing on the review and validation of Generative AI use cases developed by various business units. This position involves collaboration with MRM professionals globally, including teams in New York, London, Budapest, Frankfurt, Mumbai, and Tokyo.
Our Model Risk Management (MRM) group, part of the Global Firm Risk Management (FRM) department, is tasked with the independent risk control, review, and validation of models used across the firm. This includes a diverse range of models such as pricing models for derivatives, counterparty credit risk (CVA), market risk, credit risk, operational risk, wealth management products, and capital and liquidity stress tests. Our team also evaluates AI, ML, and Generative AI (GenAI) solutions.

What you'll do in the role:
- GenAI Use Case Review: Conduct and oversee comprehensive reviews of GenAI use cases across different functional areas. Evaluate and challenge aspects such as inputs, outputs, evaluations, usage, prompts, testing design, performance, and ongoing monitoring plans.
- Team Leadership: Manage and lead a local team responsible for these reviews, ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, and collaboration.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with GenAI use case developers, Firmwide AI, Non-Financial Risk, and other control functions to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Industry Awareness: Stay informed on key developments in the rapidly emerging field of GenAI, including foundation models, evaluation frameworks, and emerging governance practices.
- Strategic Input: Provide insights and input to discussions with senior management and regulators, leveraging your expertise in GenAI and model risk management.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Educational Background: MSc in STEM or Finance.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in GenAI (LLMs and their applications), Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Natural Language Processing, with a focus on model development or validation. A total of 5+ years of work experience, including 2+ years of management experience (not necessarily in an AI team).
- Financial Markets Interest: A genuine and broad interest in financial markets, with an internal drive to effectively challenge and improve models using a quantitative and practical mindset.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for effective stakeholder engagement and team management.
- Technical Skills: Experience with programming in a high-level language such as Python is a plus.
