As a market Global Capital Markets (GCM) responds with market judgment and ingenuity to meet clients' needs for capital. Whether executing an IPO, a debt offering or a leveraged buyout, GCM integrates Morgan Stanley's expertise in Sales & Trading and in Investment Banking (IBD), offering clients seamless advice and sophisticated solutions. We originate, structure and execute public and private placement of equities, investment-grade and non-investment-grade debt and related products.

Position Description

We are currently hiring for an Associate to work in the Debt Capital Markets - Loans Solutions and Securitisation Group (LSSG) Team in London.

LSSG is a market-leading team at the centre of European structured finance and loan portfolio transactions. The team advises on and executes complex securitisation transactions and loan portfolio sales across a broad range of asset classes, including residential mortgages, consumer credit, corporate loans and commercial real estate.

This role offers significant exposure to high-profile, pan-European transactions and the opportunity to work closely with senior bankers, clients and investors. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving transaction execution, developing analytical insights and contributing to strategic client engagement in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include:

  • Structuring and executing a broad range of transactions, including securitisations and loan portfolio transactions
  • Running work-streams within transactions with a strong focus on financial modelling, analytics and valuation
  • Analyse credit portfolios and assess risk/return dynamics across different asset classes
  • Researching, evaluating opportunities and preparing pitches for clients within the securitisation and loan sales space
  • Project management role in transaction processes, including coordinating and communicating with key stakeholders and third parties, including clients and investors


Skills Required
  • Previous experience in assessing credit portfolios, either in loan format or securitsation format
  • Outstanding academic track record from a leading university
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with a clear interest for analytics and modelling
  • Excellent problem solving skills and an ability to comprehend complex concepts
  • Proficiency and experience in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Excellent attention to detail and high standard of accuracy
  • Motivated and hardworking
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
  • Team player and able to work effectively with a collaborative mindset
  • Able to articulate complex ideas simply and summarise them effectively
  • High level of motivation, professionalism and commitment to excellence
  • Fluency in English
