French Speaking Derivatives Contract Negotiator
We're seeking someone to join our team as a French Speaking Derivatives Contract Negotiator to support the negotiation and execution of derivatives and financing documentation for institutional clients across the EMEA region.
In the Fixed Income division, we work in fast-paced and constantly changing global markets to assess and manage risk, trade securities, manage relationships with clients, and structure and execute innovative transactions.
The Business Control Unit ("BCU") is a first line team within Fixed Income that covers a number of risk areas, including Non-Market Risk, Counterparty Risk, Conduct Risk and Contract Negotiations.
The Institutional Securities Documentation ("ISD") team is responsible for negotiating trading agreements supporting the Fixed Income, Commodities and Financing businesses. The team partners with internal stakeholders and external clients to facilitate the execution of derivatives and financing transactions across global markets.
ISD is a global team based in several locations, including New York, London, Paris, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Mumbai, Budapest and Singapore.
The successful candidate will join the Budapest-based team supporting institutional clients across the EMEA region.

What you'll do in the role
- Identify documentation requirements supporting securities and OTC derivatives trading activities.
- Draft and negotiate legal documentation, including master agreements, amendments and ancillary documents.
- Manage client negotiations and documentation-related projects through to completion.
- Partner with Credit, Legal, Risk Management and Sales stakeholders on contractual matters.
- Review legal documentation to assess client capacity and authority for transactions.
- Communicate with clients and external counsel regarding documentation requirements.
- Monitor market developments and share relevant updates with internal stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to established procedures and documentation standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation records and status updates within internal systems.

What you'll bring to the role
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration or an equivalent discipline.
- 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- Fluency in French and English at business level is essential for this role.
- Experience negotiating French-language legal documentation and master agreements would be beneficial, but not essential.
- Knowledge of derivatives, financing, repurchase or stock lending documentation would be advantageous, but not essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders across different functions and seniority levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and confidence learning new systems and technologies.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented and comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
- ISDA, GMRA or GMSLA negotiation experience would be advantageous, but not essential.
- Experience with physical commodities documentation, including EFET or GTMA agreements, would be advantageous, but not essential.
- Additional language skills, including German, Spanish or Italian, would be beneficial, but not essential.
